If Johnson is smart he will resign next week. It would be better to hand the gavel over than to have someone take it from him.

I like seeing Republicans fleeing but I wish that for once they would stand up to Trump, start a trend of Republicans fighting back.

  3. It’s only going to get worse. GOP will replace these people with someone more beholden to the felon.

  4. This is the jamoke who said Charlie Kirk would have been the 13th disciple if he’d lived in Jesus’s time.

  5. Classic…wait till everything’s on fire then quietly bow out like ‘welp my work here is done.’ They’re all complicit and now they wanna ghost.

  6. If only all of these Republicans that are retiring would instead vote with the Democrats to change things.

I want the Epstein files, and every head that brings. I want Russia to gtfo of Ukraine. I want Israel to gtfo out of all of Palestine. We have no reason to wage war with Venezuela.

We are starving and the rich are fatted pigs. I want bacon.

The GOP has to be stopped.

  8. What defections. Have any Republicans changed party? No? Then I don’t think the headline’s author knows what defection means.

  9. 1. He’s being investigated for misuse of campaign donations. That’s why he’s leaving.

    2. His identical twin brother is running to replace him. Oh joy.

  10. He called trump and asked if it was okay and apologized.  Then said “The lawmaker told the outlet he is leaving office but not out of fear of retaliation from Trump, but political violence. “I’d rather my house not get firebombed,” the lawmaker said.

Have any republicans been firebombed? I can only think of democrat politician whose house suspiciously burned. And I can’t think of a single republican politician that was killed. Some dems were killed.

  11. Never let these scum back into society. Exile was always the route for traitors. Send them packing to Moscow.

  12. He’s not really retiring, just not submitting for re-election. If he were actually retiring he’d go in January like MTG.

  13. Troy Nehls could stick around and vote against Republicans, but he’s a chickenshit coward. He’d rather resign and take a book deal than oppose Trump. Same as MTG and all these other fair-weather Republicans.

  14. It would be so fucking funny if Johnson loses his majority, a blue wave happens in 2026, Trump gets impeached and convicted in 2027 and sent to federal prison in 2028. That would be glorious.
