Well shit, now I want to send my kids to Oklahoma for college, tell them to write “God doesn’t support demonic calculus” on their math papers, and graduate with 4.0s in engineering so they can go on to design bridges and buildings that God will keep standing.

Please, anyone, everyone, read the essay. It literally doesn’t have a proper claim. There’s no evidence. It’s self contradictory, explicit, and it would flunk out of grade school. It’s clearly a setup. The girl’s mother is a Republican lawyer. The “university” sent out a statement within an hour. The governor weighed in

She argues that anything but traditional gender roles are harmful and somehow is in university. Like, if we’re getting traditional here, shouldn’t she be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen making some man a sandwich?

In OU’s defense (for now) they’re following their established process when this type of discrimination claim is made – even if it’s a joke of a claim. Hopefully their investigation will support the TA and the other professor who supported the grade, and everything will be restored soon.
That being said, as a publicly funded university, they’re not immune from political pressures and our Governor is a moron.
Given how loud the student and her mother are yelling on social media about her horrible essay, it’s hard not to think this is both a grift with the goal of getting in on that TPUSA cash and trying to contribute to the GOP’s goal of marginalizing the trans community out of existence. It’s freaking disgusting and OU should’ve stood up for the instructor once it became clear that’s what was going on.
That student deserves that F.
The ease with which journalism, the military, and higher ed have capitulated to the fascist takeover of this nation is EXTREMELY troubling. All three are important checks on our democracy and without them staying on the side of democracy and the people and playing their proper roles in the protection of us and our system of government, we are doomed.

This is just an attention getter. This girl and her mom need some public attention and need to prop up Turning Point USA. If you do the assignment and read here writing, you would understand she refused to follow instructions of the assignment and didn’t even do the minimum.
At this point in time, the University needs to have its accreditation reviewed thoroughly.

I’ve been to Oklahoma… Spent a week there… Got a ticket within 10 miles of the border entering and within 10 miles of the border exiting… If not for the buffaloes, prairie dogs, and indigenous peoples, it would be nothing but a flat, stinking pile of shit.
This is such a disgrace. I read her essay and it reads like a ten year old wrote it. The instructor took the time to explain in detail why she got zero points. What an embarrassment for a university to play the game of these idiots.
As we go through our days and lives, we need to be more comfortable calling out stupidity.
It’s so funny that they argue about meritocracy and not coddling soft college snow flakes, but pull things like this. They know they’re hypocrites and they are so craven for a “rules for thee, but not me” in all walks of life, including free speech.
Teachers have to be able to grade assignments without it making national news. The instructor should be hired back, and the student be barred from the University forever. For this debacle. And then stand up for the instructor and their work. I saw the feedback of the assignment. It was standard teacher talk and criticism. This is attacks on academia, education, and trying to degrade our educational system. No. Piss off.
