Never did fit the profile. Even the one we love to hate on, Colin Powell, was a four-star general. The Secretary of Defense should have a storied and successful military background.

He should get back on Fox News, where his alcoholism isn’t destructive to our nation.

Imagine that a failed National Guard major couldn’t hack it as the Sec Def. But “I hire only the best and brightest” said Trump!

He lost the respect of the Military either when he crowned himself the secretary of war or during his General Officer comedy hour.

  5. Don’t be too quick to cheer. If they figure out that Hegseth is an incompetent buffoon, they’ll just get some else to do the same evil shit, but be smarter about it.

  6. If he’s gone, what kind of monster will be ‘good enough’ to replace him, that’s the question.

So are we at the ‘I never really knew they guy’ stage yet? I’m taking bets – the next Secretary Of *War* will be Chris Kempczinski, CEO of McDonald’s. Who wants to give me odds?

  8. B-level Fox News host with less military experience than the Pentagon’s press secretary isn’t qualified to be SecDef? Who would’ve guessed?

  9. Its no small irony that all that performative BS about warrior ethos is seriously damaging our readiness for responding to threats

I look forward to the day he’s hurled onto the scrap heap of MAGA public opinion alongside Mike Pence, Steve Bannon (several times), Rex Tillerson, the MyPillowGuy, Mark Esper, John Bolton, the Mooch, Chris Christie, Michael Cohen, Mick Mulvaney, John Kelley, and there has to be like a dozen more…?

  11. No big deal, there’s any number of piece of shit dems willing to confirm someone worse.

At least they can find him. Last guy was so effective, he left for a week and no one knew he was gone. Now that is leadership

Pete Hegseth is the best argument for DEI. When people cant look pass race and hires a Fox fake News tv host to replaced a 4 star general with 30 years experience because he was black. Pete did not have merit nor the experience to lead our military. He put our servicemen in danger when he leaked classified information over an unsecured chat line he emailed classified information to reporters. He fired all of the Jag officers who protect our military from unlawful orders. He relieved qualified leader post because they were a women or black. He is unfit i hold congress for confirming this guy.

  14. Trump has zero loyalty. As soon as it seems like it’s marginally hurting him, he turns on his sycophants.

  15. It’s hard to believe these headlines when he flip flops everyday. How many headlines have we seen about Patel being on his way out and Trump still keeps him around. Trump doesn’t care if they’re qualified he cares about their loyalty and these guys are more loyal than dogs to the orange Cheetoh.

I’m really shocked that ‘Pete’ is screwing up so badly. He came in so eminently qualified – live & learn, I guess.

  17. if the pool of candidates you are selecting your secretary of defense from is only fox news talking heads pete kinda made sense… but bret baier probably would have been better

    Trump clearly watches South Park!

“Pete Hegseth is a FK*** Douche*”
(Kenny Loggins Danger Zone background music)

  19. My guess is that they are planning to throw him under the bus if the invasion of Venezuela doesn’t work out.

Hegseth has performed his circus dog routine. Trump wanted cover for his facist fever dreams and Hegseth barked appropriately. He’s disposable and will leave still licking his master’s hand. It will make charging him criminally for his part in the boat murders easier.

  21. It’s not the “fog of war” or a “double tap” when the second strike came approximately an hour after the first strike.

  22. It’ll be interesting to see how they find someone even less qualified for the position.
