  1. Impeachment as we learned twice. Is more a political move than a real legal one. Though there may be thousands of reason he should be, it will not happen.

  2. People are too dismissive about impeachment votes. They’re at least trying to do something about Trump even if they fail. It’s not like Dems can do much else, and it’s better than sitting around doing nothing or even giving Trump credit as some Dems do. We need rallying cries, actual efforts to make Dem voters excited to stand up and fight.

    >”We will be voting ‘present’ on today’s motion to table the impeachment resolution as we continue our fight to make life more affordable for everyday Americans,” the top House Democrats added.

A large part of why things have become way more expensive is because we have a president who insists on acting like a tyrant, issuing executive orders at an insane rate, and threatening tariffs every five minutes. Maybe we should try to remove him? Just maybe?

Impeachment isn’t going anywhere, but the more time the House spends on busywork like this, the less time they have to roll out more fascist legislation. If Dems (and their constituents) understood the problem they’d be obstructing at every opportunity. Sadly that’s not the case. They are not fit for purpose.

  5. Can someone post the names? None of the articles list them out and the roll calls that come up in the Google search are from earlier this year.

  6. They think that things will get worse under him, and make things better for Dems. during the elections.

Seems messed up to have Al Green in the thumbnail when he not only voted for impeachment, but he was the one who introduced the resolution for impeachment.

Edit: Oh never mind, it was that tabloid trash newsweek that should be banned from this site

The only chance Trump has of getting impeached and removed is from the fallout from the Epstein files. I agree that he needs impeached but they’re putting the cart before the horse here. The Trump administration will release whatever redacted slop they concocted by the 19th and it will be up to Congress to investigate what damning details they left out. It will take time but we’re getting there.

I would celebrate any way he gets removed. At the same time, it’s premature to impeach given this Congress. Get the Epstein files out as your priority. Change the wider opinion. Give Republicans cover even when they don’t deserve it so they’ll have to agree, then you can impeach him. Impeaching and failing a conviction is not good for anyone or the integrity of the impeachment process.

  10. This is how it went last time too. They aren’t’t going to vote on it until they have the votes. You build an impeachment case. Right now there is nowhere near enough support for it to happen.

  11. Partisanship has destroyed the US. The Republicans are either too cowardly or complicit to fulfill their duties, and so are 23 Democrats.

  12. yeah they’re all owned by the same few billionaires. we don’t have a chance of affording life . no one fights for regular Americans anymore. A few powerless Dems just make some noise to get on the news.

  13. It’s a smart move – impeaching trump would just rile up his base and he can play the victim.

  14. AngryVegetarian on

They voted no because it’s a waste of time and doesn’t hurt Trump, if anything it emboldens his base!

  15. They impeached him in his last term. And nothing happened. Just do something or shut up all ready. Also the democrats thatbvoted against it bend at the knee for the orange diddler to get money

  16. Any dems voting in favor of tabling or present should be primaries. They clearly don’t agree with their constituents

  17. America’s two party system. One party dismantles foundations of country. Saying we streamlined it and you’re welcome. Thank me a million times or else. Meanwhile, the “opposing” party. Wow that’s looks bad maybe someone should put a stop to this. Urge your senator, call the numbers, protest and we will do jack squat( maybe break records for speaking about protesting but not actually doing it, shout out to C. Book.) thx for your money and support.

  18. As usual, Democrats only disappoint those who get their hopes up that they will help any of us.

  19. I’ve been saying this and I’ll keep saying, we’re being played by both sides. The establishment dems are backed by the same billionaires

  20. Worth noting that it’s 23 out of 213 Democrats who voted against.
Meanwhile, it’s 214 out of 220 Republicans who voted against.

Also worth noting that you need ~286 members (2/3 the House) to push impeachment forward, so even IF the Dems managed to march in lock-step, you would’ve still needed ~73 Republicans to cross the aisle.

It’s not to say this effort wasn’t worth trying, but that hopefully the blame for this failing is actually proportional, and doesn’t turn into another case of Murc’s Law for the millionth time…

  21. Leave it to Democrats to give reasons not to vote for them when you have literal Nazi fascists trying to turn America into Russia 2.0

Fucking hell this country is cooked
