  1. Following up on my previous post regarding serious human rights abuses at “Alligator Alcatraz” and associated immigration detention sites — the same patterns and practices are being used at Fort Bliss according to the ACLU and other human rights organizations.

Detainees are regularly denied access to adequate food, medical care and legal counsel. Conditions in detention are appalling:

    > Detained people at Ft. Bliss are held in tent units with bunk beds for 72 people positioned closely together and a bathroom area with toilets and showers, shared by everyone in the unit. Detainees note that the toilets are particularly unsanitary, with urine and fecal matter lining the bowls and the surrounding walls. The area stinks of urine and feces. In some units, individuals are given only one roll of toilet paper per day for all 72 people.

Detainees describe extreme violence used to coerce them into accepting deportation to Mexico (including non-Mexican nationals). Some of them were sexually assaulted:

    > Isaac describes, “[t]he guards came into my housing unit and told me I was going to be deported. When I asked them where, they told me I will be taken to Mexico.” After he refused, the officers left, but soon returned with many more guards, who took Isaac out of his cell. As he testified in a sworn declaration, “the guards hit my head” and “slammed it against the wall approximately ten times,” squeezed and twisted my ankles,” and “grabbed and crushed my testicles between their fingers. vhich was very painful and humiliating.” As a result of the beating, Isaac “had severe pain behind my ears,” and could not touch the left side of his head without pain for approximately a month. Isaac was then taken to a “punishment room,” where ICE agents “told me to cooperate,” and that “no matter what I am going to be taken to Mexico.”

This network of concentration camps is spreading. I don’t use that term lightly either. What these reports document is a system of arbitrary detention inflicted on civilian populations en masse, without meaningful judicial redress, and which often meets the definition of torture.

Today it’s immigrants. Tomorrow, who knows?

  2. Every single domestic terrorist responsible for these atrocities against these people needs to face immediate and severe punishment when this country finally returns to sanity. Life in prison at minimum.

  3. Choice-of-SteinsGate on

Trump’s transformation into a dictator can be seen in the juxtaposition between visuals of the hideously gilded Oval Office, Trump’s tastelessly decorated “ballroom” and descriptions of detainment centers which depict such horrid conditions that they resemble concentration camps.

    **Camp Conditions:**

It’s already been reported that at least 21-25 detainees have died due to these wretched living conditions.

And that’s just what’s been reported.

ICE officials can and have undercounted deaths by using what’s called the “release before death loophole.”

They’ve even admitted that if a detainee is released immediately before their death, the death is not counted as “in custody.”

Whistleblowers have also sounded the alarm about “systemic underreporting,” lack of oversight and seriously flawed investigations.

Because of this lack of oversight, previous reviews found that 95 percent of deaths are preventable.

The main causes of deaths at these ~~facilities~~ concentration camps are due to things like severe medical neglect, delays in emergency care, preventable infectious diseases due to overcrowding and disgusting living conditions, even suicide due to poor mental health services and prevention measures and lack of counseling.

Some deaths are attributed to preventable accidents and injuries sustained by detainees going uncared for.

There’s also severe understaffing issues and reports of falsified inspection records. And of course this all comes with next to no accountability or oversight, especially when it concerns incomplete, forged or delayed reporting/disclosures of deaths.

In some cases, American citizens have been detained at these facilities and have spoken out about the sickening and derelict conditions that inmates are forced to endure for indefinite periods of time—conditions that, by their very descriptions, eerily resemble those of places like CECOT.

    It’s fucking savagery.

**”Trump Is Only Going After The Illegal Criminals:”**

Trump supporters still insist that his regime is only going after “the illegal criminals.”

They insisted on it after the supreme Court ruled that Kilmar Obrego Garcia was unlawfully deported to one of the most dangerous ~~prisons~~ places on earth after an immigration judge expressly forbid his deportation to El Salvador.

They insisted on it when ICE agents were targeting and detaining people based on non-gang affiliated tattoos and clothing.

After it was ruled that deputized armies of violent and masked immigration enforcers could begin profiling their targets.

As homeland security was deporting large numbers of migrants, some of whom were in the country legally and many who had no criminal records, to mega prisons and Guantanamo bay while depriving them of their right to due process.

When the Trump administration began mass raids targeting laborers, taxpayers, veterans, and legal residents.

They insisted on it while masked ICE agents were throwing political dissidents and foreign students into unmarked vehicles.

After the Trump administration began withholding visas to foreign students while vetting the social media accounts of these students and demanding universities basically spy on them and report on their affairs.

After a report came out that revealed how Stephen Miller demanded ICE agents start indiscriminately arresting and detaining anyone perceived as a foreigner in order to meet an excessive deportation quota.

When the Trump administration gave immigration agents permission to stop, question and detain people based on their “apparent ethnicity,” language or place of work.

While immigration agents are mistakenly and violently detaining hundreds of U.S citizens.

While the Trump administration is pressuring immigration judges to deny migrants their citizenship when they actually show up to their court hearings, only to have ICE officials waiting for them outside of court without the proper warrant to detain and deport them.

They insist on it as ICE is targeting asylum seekers, green card carriers, visa holders, protestors, students, legal residents, and so on.

As Trump is mobilizing the military to US cities while deputizing them to work in tandem with immigration agents who are escalating violence, suppressing civil liberties and cracking down on protestors.

After watching multiple incidents where federal agents were violently detaining elected officials for speaking out during press conferences for homeland security.

They still insist on it after ICE and border patrol agents appeared at a rally and press conference held by Gavin Newsom.

After immigration agents detained migrants waiting in line at their citizenship ceremony, some of which had been working towards their citizenship for decades.

While Trump is federalizing the military and local police to wage war against the American people, and while he is using ICE as his own personal army to terrorize the public.

They continue to insist that anyone who criticizes or pushes back against the Trump administration’s clearly unlawful measures must be a gang, drug smuggler, murderer or criminal sympathizer.

And if you do speak out against or challenge the regime’s unconstitutional actions while you happen to be a judge or someone holding a position of authority, you should be prepared to receive death threats and/or swift political retribution and intimidation from the federal government.

    **Trump’s Unlawful Deportation Agenda:**

Trump is flouting the law, violating the Constitution, issuing autocratic decrees and invoking ambiguous sections of US code to federalize the military, invalidate The posse Comitatus Act, and declare war on his own people.

Trump has been deploying these armies of hostile and unrestrained ICE agents around the country who are concealing their identities while violently arresting, detaining and deporting thousands of people without due process. Hundreds of American citizens have also been detained and assaulted over the course of these mass raids.

Trump’s not-so-secret police are terrorizing citizens, violating the Constitution by not showing the proper warrants, throwing people into unmarked vehicles, acting as law enforcement, profiling their targets, and suppressing civil rights.

Trump is employing these unlawful tactics to carry out excessive national security measures. He is threatening to invoke the Insurrection Act while federalizing troops to centralize authoritarian control over US cities. He is also deploying these troops without consent from the states. These measures are not intended to “reduce crime” or drive back some imaginary “rebellion,” but to crackdown on protestors and dissent, to suspend civil liberties and to terrorize the public.

The Trump admin’s “law and order” rhetoric is inciting hostilities towards immigrants, marginalized groups and minorities. To Trump and his allies, “law and order” means punishing your enemies.

This obsession with crime and punishment is reflected in Trump’s militarization of domestic policy, in his admin’s disregard for people’s constitutional rights, in Trump’s attacks and threats aimed at judges and law firms, in his unjustified prosecutions of his political opponents, in his weaponization of the DOJ, and in his deputizing of masked ICE agents.
