Yeah, but 10/10 donors say they prefer Americans to fuck off and die quickly so…sawry!

Seems like a strange comparison to make. Funding for Israel is 3B a year for 10 years according to the poll. 3B is peanuts compared to what’s needed to help a significant chunk of Americans with healthcare expenses.

You will get military spending and more money for those that make over 10 million a year and like it.

Funny thing is that Israel has government funded healthcare, and by that I mean funded by our government on the US taxpayers’ dime

>A majority of respondents, at 65 percent, said that they believe the U.S. should “reinvest” taxpayer funding for Israel into lowering the cost of health care at home.
But they continue to vote for the people who have had “concepts of a plan” to replace the ACA and no real solutions to the high costs of insurance for the last decade? The ones who presented no real alternatives or definitive, structural changes to the current shitshow that is healthcare in America? How’s that supposed to work out?

If the won’t fund healthcare, maybe they will give us money for weapons?

This makes no sense. Single payer health care is cheaper than what we have now. There is no need to sacrifice aid for any country to get cheaper health care.

Honestly, regardless of your position on these matters, this is obviously a push poll. The poll was funded by a Palestinian-affiliated organization, and the questions were not neutrally-worded (often comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa). Also, they cherry-picked the best results, even though many of the results show that Republicans of all ages still support financial and political support for Israel in many respects. It also has some odd questions, like whether Israel controls the media, that don’t seem to have much of a place in a poll looking for accurate responses.
Note that I’m not taking any position on the Israel/Palestine debate here. I’m just pointing out that the poll and the written press release for the results bring into question whether this poll was designed to push people towards certain responses. Poll questions are easily to manipulate in certain directions, and it’s worth noting these potential pushes if we want accurate info.

The reason we’re not funding healthcare is Republicans, not Israel…

Then maybe you shouldn’t have voted for the party that wants to take away your health care. Like, yeah, I get it. Obviously, Democrats aren’t perfect by any means, but Republicans only seem to truly care about fetuses and rich assholes.
Why any Republican voter thinks that the party will actually do anything to help the average person in the US is beyond me.

The reasons for America’s rotten health care system are legion. The Jewish state is not one of them. We spend $6B in a few hours on health care.
When you’re ready to quit blaming the Jews, check out how Israel, founded as a democratic socialist country, has organized and funded universal care for their citizens. Like most modern Western democracies do, except us.
Perennially, grumpy “taxpayers”, esp populist conservatives, have fumed about a foreign recipient of US aid when some need here is unmet — as if a slice of the Pentagon or foreign aid budget were fungible with health and human services.
Big US thinkers and advocates on US universal care: Drs. Himmelstein, Woolhandler and Emmanuel. Read up. Hopefully you can get past their Jewish last names.

This isn’t fair how will Israel pay for the universal healthcare for its citizens if the United States cuts off the funding.

Republicans literally don’t know what it means to “fund healthcare”. I’m not kidding, they don’t know.
Ask them if we should “fund healthcare” instead of this and of course they’ll say yes. But ask them if that means we should fund Medicaid, Medicare, Obamacare, SCHIP, or any other means of the government *funding healthcare* and they’ll say “no, and actually we should cut funding for that.” Maybe maybe maaaaybe you can get them to sign on to more VA healthcare funding.
Point is, don’t believe this poll. Republicans are fine with funding Israel, and the HATE funding healthcare, and they will vote that way for the rest of your life.

Uh, it would take a lot more than what the US is giving to Israel to fund Amerocan universal healthcare, likely by a factor of 100 at least. The federal govt already spends more a trillion on healthcare. How is the few billion spent on Israel even being compared??
