  1. >“Due to technical limitations and the format of certain materials (e.g., handwritten text), portions of these documents may not be electronically searchable or may produce unreliable search results.”

I believe the law specifically stipulates that the files must be searchable.

  2. Why bother with a search filter. They could have hard coded a dozen names and it would represent 90% of the traffic.

  3. Trump isn’t going to allow anything to happen that will interfere with his and Vladimir Putin’s plans to rob Europe.

  4. Yeah, it doesn’t find any results when you try searching for Trump, or Clinton, Dershowitz, or Prince Andrew.

    Source: Me. I tried.

  5. Once the search works, be sure to search for misspelling of people’s names – that stuff may have escaped redaction as I’m guessing that some of the redaction was automated and not coded correctly.

  6. The “searchable” DOJ database has apparently been intentionally crippled to keep interested citizens from accessing the released files. I’ve tried the links several times, and on entering the site, I’m told that “You are now in line”, then nearly immediately sent redirected to a page telling me, that I’d lost my “place in the line” because my slot expired after 20 minutes (note that I’d only entered the site seconds before), it then offers me a place at the “back of the line”, if I’m interested.

I’m hoping that I’m misguided in the belief that I’m being intentionally blocked, perhaps this is merely another case of total incompetence by the Trump Administration, but given the history of this DOJ, I’m not particularly hopeful that I’m wrong.

Update while writing this… I was able to actually get into the site by using a browser which doesn’t allow web tracking (i.e., using either private mode or TOR browsing)… not sure what that means, but you might be able to get there if you have trouble with your regular browsing mode.

The Republican Party is in the business of protecting pedophiles. Release the full Trump and Epstein files no redacted!

  8. Just download the files and get the right OCR software or have AI do it. This isn’t the barrier they think it is and it shouldn’t even be a complaint. Just let them do whatever they think they’re getting away with when they’re not.

It’s easiest to simply download the full zips.

I’m then going to use AI to build a data parsing algorithm to load each Zip into memory, extract the files, order them, and then search for Trump using a combinatorial matrix of various spellings and names (Drumpf, Trump, DJT, Donald, Don, etc.)

well the department of injustice will definitely make the history books with the mockery and mishandling of this shit.

  11. News media is an absolute joke. CNN called this a massive “trove” of files released. Talked about it with a suck-up reporter for 8 minutes…who said how much information was released. Then they broke to another story and haven’t mentioned it since. Tired of this junk.

I love how they put the fucking images in god damned mother fucking pdf files to make it where you have to click every mother fucking one of the god damned things to fucking open the mother fuckers. Nice work, you vaginal belches. Someone will use AI to extract them. Fuck MAGA.

  13. The search tool is really old, and has this weird thing where it like resets for 2 minutes every night at midnight.

  14. The zooted up 19 year old mega-geniuses they hired to scrape all our Social Security information should be able to figure it out, no?

We have a president that not only raped little girls but he also preyed on them and helped recruit them. There’s also no way that he’s not taking bribes to redact other people’s names

  16. They sure do spend a lot of time hiding all of the evidence that would’ve proved Trump to be innocent…unless of course..?

  17. Search : “Trump”
    Returns : 0 results

    Search: “*rump”
    Returns : 1083777593903775993 results

  18. If you look at any of the files, they’re all horribly OCR. To the point where I can’t read some of them at all. Search tools over huge amounts of text exist. If they wanted to be cheap there are open source versions. But making them easy to search makes them easy to pick through. It’s just another fuck you on top of entire redacted documents. You can’t even find redacted documents, it says they’ll all be replaced with “DOJ redaction” and a search for either term fails. This is intentionally bad. They’re also working really really hard so that bots can’t scrape this, presumably so that someone won’t stuff it all into a db.

  19. I searched trump saw nothing and I was like figures. So I searched Clinton and also nothing. So that’s when I realized it was broken.
