While unlikely, even if the get an impeachment in the House, they will never get a conviction in the Senate:
Pam will simply state the truth: Everyone competent in the DOJ has left, so there was nobody left to do the work correctly and on-time.

Five citations, and you’re looking at a violation. Four of those, and you’ll receive a verbal warning. Keep it up, and you’re looking at a written warning.
Two of those, that’ll land you in a world of hurt; in the form of a disciplinary review, written up by me, and placed on the desk of my immediate superior!

They should have had the paperwork ready to go. We all know the Epstein documents were coming out like this. They should have filed within 10 minutes of the release.

If you file these contempt charges, what enforcement mechanism do you have to haul Pam Bondi before Congress? Jim Jordan already proved that you can just ignore Congressional subpoenas with zero accountability, Trump is going to back Bondi up, and the Courts will either say that it’s a political matter and they’re staying out of it, or they are going to rule that they’re not going to force Bondi to release information she claims is a part of an ongoing investigation.
If you do hold her in contempt, what penalties can you impose upon her? And who, specifically, will be responsible for enforcing those penalties? Because the law as written has no teeth and no enforcement mechanism. Even [politicians](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/doj-must-release-epstein-files-friday-risk-repercussions-laws-co-autho-rcna249574) and [those on the left](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkZ2hG8ZVfI) who are in favor of this are saying that there are few to no viable methods of actual accountability, any enforcement action would likely happen during future administrations, there would be statute of limitations issues, and would most likely be reliant on civil lawsuits. And even then, it would be difficult to find someone who would have legal standing to sue.
Democrats themselves shoulder some of the blame for the state of this entire case. Since the law’s passing, they insisted that this was going to lead to a trove of highly damning pictures showing evidence of the rich and powerful engaging in sexual activity with Epstein’s victims. And what we’ve gotten so far is a whole bunch of yesterday’s D-list in a bunch of irrelevant pictures where they happened to have met Epstein in some random social gathering. They need to start shitting or getting off the pot. Either release these highly charged, damning photos and all these names you claim you have and start naming names or shut the hell up. And if the problem is that Trump isn’t allowing the information to be released, you’ve gotta start pushing that too. But sitting there and pulling the equivalent of a “Tune in next week for the really juicy stuff!” while giving us pictures of Diana Ross and Woody Allen is starting to piss a lot of people off and getting some to start to think that the Democrats’ position really is that overblown.
With that said, I’d really love to hear what realistically can be done. Because right now, the most I’ve been able to gather is that the most that we can expect is that Bondi *might* face a tongue lashing from Congress at some arbitrary point in the future. Or in other words, a whole lot of nothing. And even that assumes that Republicans will actually bother to hold hearings instead of falling in line behind Trump and saying “Welp, we tried! We passed a law! There’s nothing more we can do! We have to move on to other matters.”
I do wonder what Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks about the fact that she just sacrificed her career for this, and it probably won’t even matter.

I know everyone gets sick of the “considering” narrative and I pretty much agree with you.
I’m just going to say that the reason they do this, is because they are trying to seed that in public, so that they can build a case in private by using public response to bring in other House members and show them there is support so that they can actually find the votes to accomplish this.
If you do not build any narrative for it, and you essentially just shadow-drop the impeachment charges, they’ll be voted down very quickly and buried.
This is – again, unfortunately so – the way modern politics works.
