I remember back in 2016 when some Psychologists/Psychiatrists were diagnosing him from afar and getting flack due to the Goldwater Rule. I remember some framing it as an emergency and so it was justified. Clearly seemed like an emergency to me at the time too and yet here we are.

Five years ago I might have been more skeptical. But he has definitely lost ground. And that is normal, and nothing to be ashamed of. Most of us experience cognitive decline with age. But it is at odds with his strong-man image. And gen-z is realizing that old man yells at clouds isn’t particularly encouraging. Of all the people that he promised prosperity to and hasn’t delivered? Young people.
A significant other aspect is his personality disorder. They are connected. He can’t mask his cognitive decline because of his personality disorder, and he can’t mask his personality disorder because of his cognitive decline.

Trump just needs to make it to 2027. That way, JD Vance can finish Trumps term, and still be elected to two of his own terms in 2028 and 2032. This would secure 10 years of Republican rule, which would allow them to continue to make and follow through with serious structural changes.

I feel like he has this for his “Trump card.” When/if he’s ever held accountable for anything, like he can’t beat the Epstein story, the one thing he can guarantee will keep him out of prison, beyond the Supreme Court saying presidents are immune from criminal justice, would be such a cognitive decline that he is deemed unfit to stand trial. Look at the rape trial of Ron Jeremy, by that point, he was so far gone, that he they decided he couldn’t stand trial since he couldn’t remember anything he’s accused of by dozens of women, and they did have doctors running mental tests on him. The guy’s brain was basically pudding. And we’ve seen Bill Cosby pretending to be Mr. Magoo, which didn’t work, but eventually they let him out of prison prematurely because of who he is.
