IMO, this ain’t some 4D chess move like some would have us believe. Trump’s just playing Monopoly with millions while most of us can barely afford to pass ‘Go’. Kinda messed up, innit? But hey, maybe that’s just the world we’re living in now – thicc wallets make the rules, the rest of us just survive.

I tried to make my mother confront the massive, insane inappropriateness of a president more than doubling his wealth in the first year of a term in office. She said, “Every president does that”.

They’ve moved the goalposts so far that they’ve retroactively rewritten reality. This fucking guy is so corrupt that they’ve had to edit all previous presidents to be equally corrupt just to try to make it seem like it’s not the most unprecedented corruption in American history. These people would justify their own murders, if the need arose. He couldn’t just stand on 5th Ave and shoot somebody. He could line up his supporters children and put bullets in their heads, then eat them, shit them out, then fuck the shit, and their loved ones would draft thank you notes that address him as “Sir” and begin with “I just want to thank you for all that you’ve done for my family”.

    We’re doomed.

Huh. I’m sure that’s a normal thing sitting US Presidents are allowed to do..right?

  5. Pretty sure this won’t fall under presidential actions, if the time ever comes. It won’t, but one can imagine.

As a Democrat, would it be ethical to invest in whatever Trump invests, because you know he can scam it in his favor.

  7. Did he just find an infinite money glitch where he sells Americans out then profits off them after he’s gone? This man needs to have all assets frozen.

  8. It’s obvious that Trump has liquid assets for the first time in his life. It’s just rolling in.

  9. Conveniently the article lists the stocks he bought.

So now his true believers can buy the same stocks, driving up the share price, and then he can dump his holdings and make a tidy profit.

And, if I may remind SCOTUS: this kind of “pump & dump” is NOT an “official act”.

  10. It is going to years to unravel this mess. The republicans in complete control, of the checks and balances, let all this go down under their watch. The voters better wake up now that all the corruption is on full display. They don’t even bother hiding it. As soon as the first one is convicted they will all start singing like a choir to keep their sorry asses out of prison.

  11. Why do old rich assholes do shit like this? He’s 79 years and one of the most selfish pieces of garbage in the known universe. So it’s not like he’s using his billions to help anyone. His family is already more than set and I’m not even sure he gives a shit about them anyway.

It really is an ego scoreboard for pricks like him. Hoarding wealth and measuring who’s pile is bigger is what he lives for. It’s clear that the only reason he even got into politics was to change, bend, or break rules to make his pile bigger.

Billionaires shouldn’t exist. Making billions of dollars is mostly fine. Hoarding those billions is straight up immoral.

  13. It was my birthday today and I checked the news to see if I got the ultimate birthday present. I have a bottle of whiskey set aside for that special day.

Looks like it didn’t happen today, but my fingers are crossed for Christmas

So let me get this straight.

Congress has completely abdicated their role in deciding when and how much money is spent, leaving it to this guy.

Who is then free to rack up as much debt as he wants, buying whatever he wants, using debt that he can take out from whoever he wants, he then buys the debt at a discount, and then is free to collect from the taxpayers the money that he spent…

This is worse than him just writing himself a check, this is like using someone else’s credit card to pay for your vacation, and then somehow buying that credit card debt from the credit card company so the victim not only has to pay for what you spent, they also have to pay you back for the privilege.

  15. “I think it’s frankly ridiculous that anyone in this room would even suggest that President Trump is doing anything for his own benefit.”

  16. We used to call it “conflict of interest” but since the watchdogs have abdicated their responsibilities, I guess what we have left is “business as usual”.

  17. There is no way a president is stealing taxpayer monies in any way to enrich his own family and his cabinet /s

  18. Thank you Trump for showing everybody how evil and corrupt billionaires are. All billionaires are like Trump, they’re simply smart enough to hide it…the world is waking up (some call it woke) and soon billionaires are no longer going to exist. Let’s start spreading the wealth, 99.9%ers…..

So he bought the debt and then launched student loan wage garnishing?

    He’s stealing people’s fucking money.
