My partner and I visited his mother in Asheville about a year after the hurricane hit and there was still cleaning up going on. Even then there was so much devastation on display, it was awful.
The fact that FEMA funds STILL aren’t being released is just a giant “fuck you” from the government to its own citizens. How can people think that’s ok??

FEMA buyouts are always super slow and a lot of people end up waiting years just to get any kind of answer. Most give up or move on before anything happens.
