  1. Yes because religion is a grift or a tool used to divide and conquer.

See history. From the crusades, to near genocide of Native Americans, chattel slavery in the US, Jim Crow, etc.

The more educated you become the less you fall for the grift or believe in stories written by who knows from 1000s of years ago that believed the Earth was the center of the universe.

Kings and Queens were previously believed to be Gods chosen ones to rule empires.

The peasants give their wealth up under this ruse and thus the royal families enrich themselves and their generations yet to come. Some countries still believe and romanticize this bullshit.

  2. Because religion by itself is inherently regressive where questioning is disallowed and often times punishable. Fuck religion.

The country is at the point where the only truly Christian action is to barge into every megachurch and start flippin’ and whippin’, in Jesus’ name.

  4. The religious in America have directly caused me to stop going to church. No exaggeration; direct correlation.

Interesting how Trump’s political debut in 2015 seems to mark a surrender to decline in US religion.

Correlation is not necessarily causation, but it would be nice if there were consequences.

  6. None of the Christians in America act like Christians should, so its pretty unappealing for those of us here with a conscience.

  7. The information age has perpetuated the collapse in religious identity. I became unaffiliated at a young age with many of my peers.

  8. The religiosity of the US is one of the strangest things about the US, looking from outside, particularly given how brutal the society is towards its weakest members.

  9. In 2026 atheists are more aligned with Christian values (what Jesus taught) than American conservatives.

  10. Nothing will turn you off of religion faster than seeing people use it as a weapon to demonize others. On top of that, there’s another segment of that same religion that will say and do nothing about that problem.

The minority seems to be truly kind and charitable and welcoming.

Evangelical Christianity has definitely damaged all of religion in the US.

  11. I think a LOT of young men had signed on to being Trump’s soldiers who were devoted to Christ and white nationalism, only to learn about a year later that they tied themselves to a child rapist.

Yeah, you only need to see how a MAGA Christian behaves and ask yourself if you’re above or below that. Imagine if your religion compelled you to defend pedophilia.

Imagine if you were introduced to both atheism and MAGA Christianity for the first time right now. No societal pressures to choose and no family influence. Who the fuck chooses to be a MAGA Christian?

  13. So that’s why they’re advertising everywhere now. Youtube ads from dumb Christian bs every day.

    Fuckin’ about time.
Embrace reality, shit fuckin’ sucks and your grandpa’s imaginary friends ain’t gonna fix it.

  15. Most don’t subscribe to what right wing Christianity has become. It does not appear to be a positive movement any longer. People, generally, want to be good and helpful. It makes us feel good about ourself. We don’t want to be hurtful, racist or misogynistic.

Not surprising; a lot of “Christians” are showing the world who they really are.
