It’s going to be very hard to use it for impeachment purposes even though we can clearly see the end goal is here. If you look closely you get a glimpse of the forest through the trees when he doesn’t even mince words about the Monroe Doctrine and how “this is how we protect all of the west”. This is not about narco terrorism or protecting Venezuela from a dictator but rather a step towards expansionism of the US by seizing resources and the largest deposits of oil on the planet.

The reality is there’s plenty of grey area to the legality of a president carrying out a limited operation removing a country’s leader, especially with the US Federal warrant. Add to that the “self defense” excuse of Maduro being a key ally to Putin and Xi and therefore a threat within our sphere of influence. Add to that the designation of a narco terrorist leader.
The Monroe Doctrine is alive and well across the globe, apparently. This call for impeachment is pretty dumb and going nowhere. Especially when Americans are seeing Venezuelans dancing in the street and yelling ‘thank you, America.’
