    He 100% wants to rename it Trumpland.  Maybe even build some Hotels and Casinos and amusement parks for kids.

    Throughout history, when an empire annexes new land, the citizens of that empire experience a large influx of new wealth. I suspect this will not be the case for Americans. The more Trump steals from foreign countries by force, the more he will continue to steal from Americans by theft and scam.

    All the while MAGA will cheer him on. Because war is so cool guys.

    Since taking office in 2025, Trump has refused to rule out taking resource-rich Greenland through military force. Trump argues annexing Greenland is a national security necessity, noting its mass of critical minerals.

    He renewed those calls on Sunday, Jan. 4 after his administration ousted Venezuela’s leader Nicolas Maduro.

    “We do need Greenland, absolutely. We need it for defense,” Trump told The Atlantic. The same day, Katie Miller, the wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, [posted a photo of Greenland covered with the American flag](https://x.com/KatieMiller/status/2007541679293944266?s=20). Above it, Miller wrote “SOON.”

    Putting aside the fact that there is a treaty in place which allows the US to put a many bases on the territory of Greenland as it wants…

    This would be a horrible step which would basically mean the end of NATO, end of any trans Atlantic alliance, friendship with EU, Canada etc. It would basically mean US, Russia and China are free to divide the world into their spheres of influence. It would put EU in a tough place between Trump and Putin, stripped of reasonable access to natural resources, technology and export markets. Difficult to solve.

    The comparisons to a certain art school reject are getting way more too obvious to brush off at this point.

    Like if the UN has any teeth, they should show it tomorrow when they meet over the Venezuela “incident”. Or we may need version 3.0 after and if we all survive World War III.

    Denmark and Greenland already allow US military bases and assets on the territory, his claim that the territory needs to be owned by the US for national defense is just a lie.

    The fact that the rain Trump is obsessed with taking Greenland is because of a Russian disinformation campaign that was literally just a fake letter sent to Tom Cotton who passed it on to Trump is the cherry on top.

    I’m saying this as a Finnish Canadian- Finland’s inclusion into NATO in 2023 is now a big deal. Finland, Canada along with other Nordic countries run Nordic Respsonse training activities. They are prepared.
