Setting Mark Kelly aside, Hegseth absolutely is unqualified for SECDEF. You don’t put a Major and an alcoholic in that position.

Hegseth is not only unqualified. He is also a direct war criminal of international terrorism and should be held accountable by the international court of justice.

Question: when all these terrible people are no longer in power, can someone not reverse this kind of thing? Like if they do successfully strip him of his pension or whatever, can the next congress or president or whoever reinstate his correct pay?
Republicans’ support for veterans is conditional on whether the veteran agrees with them or not
Anyone else in the military chain of command who had leaked as much as Hegseth had last year should consider themselves lucky to only lose retirement benefits.
Now he’s committing to grand irony by issuing an illegal order to censure someone…for advocating resisting illegal orders.

The US armed forces should definitely be taking note of this down to an individual level. If the US government is prepared to do this to a very prominent ex serviceman for utilising first amendment free speech and reminding armed forces personnel of the law then what would stop them from doing it to the less visible veterans, for whatever reason they wanted?
