Trump Is Pushing Coal, Gas and NucIear to Power AI Boom, But Building Plants Takes Years. Nobody has constructed a US coal plant in over a decade. The last new large-scale nucIear reactor came in billions of dollars over budget and took fifteen years. New gas plants take an average of five years.

It’ll be gas turbines, problem is the availability of turbines and how many are being made.
You want a lm 2500+g4 new from GE? 6 year wait list
Want one of the brand new LM9000s? Nobodies even ran them or worked on them thats a major risk to take on
LM6000s? Same issue as the 2500s

  2. No AI should be built without their own power supply. Putting power supply for people over AI makes no sense.

Do you guys remember the movie “Water World” with Kevin Costner. Trump and his goons remind me of the smokers

The Nation needs to adopt a new posture. Everything that is done under Trump must be undone. Prevention is the only option for the next three years.

All actions are to be stopped or slowed. No new anything. Prepare now for 2029. There will be a lot of work to do.

  5. What a tragic waste of time and resources and money, all to serve this idiot’s ego. These plants will never be built. The utility companies will just wait until Trump is gone and proceed with what makes sense for their companies, as they should. Meanwhile, the US economy will suffer, and fall behind China.

  6. Gas plants take more than 5 years now too because the companies that build steam turbines have scaled back since onshore wind and solar PV are cheaper now than even natural gas.

Solar PV, onshore wind, and batteries have made up 95+% of new electric capacity.
