Yay fascism!! Way to go, judicial branch! Who needs that pesky 1^st amendment anyway?!?!

  2. Christ. It just gets worse and worse with this guy. We need to get him and his cronies out.

  3. > According to the White House, Vance will “hold a roundtable with local leaders and community members and will deliver remarks focused on restoring law and order in Minneapolis”.

There was law and order before the city was invaded by an occupying force that has shown a complete disregard for the rights of Minneapolis residents.

The 8th Circuit Fascist Court… made up of 10 Republican appointees & 1 Democratic. Fascists gonna fash…

All Republicans are fascist domestic terrorists. They must be rooted out of our government at every level.

Republicans have infested the courts and that is not something that can easily resolved without Democrats holding the senate for decades…. so, never

  7. What world are we living in where a court thinks it’s legal to attack peaceful protesters? Where can I read the courts response on why this should be allowed?

  8. They are making it very difficult for protests to remain peaceful.

Which, of course, was always the plan.

There are two off-ramps left before the unthinkable inevitably happens:

    1. impeachment & removal (not going to happen)
    2. invoking the 25th amendment (not going to happen)

Why on earth would a judge allow the constitution to be violated? That judge needs to be disbarred and removed from office.

The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals has a strong Republican-appointed majority, with most active judges appointed by Republican presidents, making it one of the most conservative circuits, though specific party affiliations aren’t listed on official sites, the appointment history shows a clear tilt towards GOP appointees, with only a few Democratic appointees on the bench.

    Explains a lot.

So, when are 2,000+ ICE agents heading to Texas and Florida? Oh. That’s right. Not happening.

The majority of white voters who participated on November 5, 2024, ‘We love this. Thank you for staying home and making excuses not to vote for the woman with the unique laugh. Consider this: we are only one year into Trump’s term, and there are still at least three more years of cruelty related to deportations, ICE, and the mistreatment of LGBTQ individuals and people of color. It’s a perfect example of what we wanted.’

*Among those who voted, 60% of white men and 53% of white women supported a racist, fascist, sexist pedophile.*

This is a nonsensical ruling that violates people’s rights. It can’t and won’t stand.

  14. Don’t you just love these judges who don’t actually do any work, deciding that the old lady with the sign should get the pepper spray.. Such a great life the privileged have to just condemn and then go out to dinner and drink wine while complaining about the cut of steak they are eating.

This is fucked up and it feels like no one is paying attention.
The US is deploying chemical weapons and deadly force on citizens behaving in 100% constitutionally protected ways on the streets on Minnesota.
ICE is functioning like domestic terrorists.

  16. It’s a temporary rejection of a temporary pause ruling. The judicial process is far from over on this.

  17. Well… it seems the police aren’t allowed to arrest an ICE officer that shoots a citizen in the face, so of course they can’t arrest them for assault and battery.

Constitution and rule of law is over in America

  18. washheightsboy3 on

I’m so confused. A judge issues an 80 page ruling concluding that you shouldn’t detain or tear gas peaceful protestors. And the appeals court issues a one sentence temporary stay of that order with no explanation at all. So the status quo they want to preserve is the governments authority to tear gas peaceful protesters?

  19. Wow. The 8th Circuit has overturned an injunction against “retaliating against peaceful protesters, arresting or detaining people who are participating in peaceful protests, using pepper spray or similar non-lethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools, as well as stopping or detaining drivers without reasonable cause. ”

So basically, screw the First and Fourth Amendments, in one ruling!

  20. The choices seem to be:

    1. Keep ICE there which will inevitably keep civil unrest at a high level which has caused violence and death and has a good chance for that to continue while arresting people without criminal backgrounds and “accidentally” arresting US citizens.

    2. Remove ICE, which will remove the protesters and calm the violence.

This isn’t even about ICE anymore. Even if you AGREE with what ICE is doing, removing focus on Minnesota is the logical move to keep the protesters and violence at bay and to keep children safe.

But, according to many people, fuck me for thinking about logic and keeping people safe right?

  21. Fear not Patriots. I’m sure there is a mass mobilization of Conservative second amendment lovers coming to free us from tyranny with their Trump/Thin Blue Line flags any day now!

  22. Appeals court – “WELL SHUCKS YA’LL DO WE REALLY KNOW IF MACING AND BEATING PEACEFUL PROTESTORS IS WRONG? FUCK IT! ASSAULT AND BATTER AWAY, THE FIRST AMENDMENT IS ONLY A SUGGESTION LULZ.

I thought it was absurd that a court had to make a ruling barring ICE from blatantly and flagrantly violating constitutional protections as well as actual laws on harming the public, but another court just reversed that. We are truly living in the cursed times.

  23. Ill put $20 on >50% of Republicans willingly surrendering their guns if asked or told to by these maga fucks.

Ill take the first 5 bettors but you better be fucking good for it if im right (I, a 2A progressive, wish that I have to pay so im betting what i can afford).

If no legislation or request from Trump/Vance/Johnson/some other trump appointee comes to pass then the bet is obviously null.

  24. odd-duckling-1786 on

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.

They kidnapped a 5 year old and shipped him off to Texas. They are pinning peaceful protesters down in the street and spraying them with pepper spray at point blank range. This is no longer immigration enforcement, this is urban combat.

  25. Maybe we should allow the arrest and pepper spraying of ICE and Supreme Court judges? Maybe, that’s their version of treat others as you wish to be treated…

  26. So they have openly declared war on us then. Unfortunately when they choose to suspend the rule of law or tip the scales in their favor, they become a tyrannical government. Our founding fathers knew this could happen and they wrote a prescription for us to reduce the damage caused by a feckless pedophile-in-chief.
