I feel that Trump is a symptom of the decline of the current world order. Ostensibly based on a vague meritocracy of market competition, as wealth concentration increases amoral idiots like Trump are handed power by virtue of inherited wealth.
They expose the core truth that the system is inherently unfair. It is built to protect wealth and power and to exploit the many to make them richer as jockey with other wealthy and powerful people.
When to ugly subtext comes out people tend to react by either being more honest and brutal (e.g. fascism) or seek an alternative (e.g. revolution).
Right now Trump is betting that his fascism seems more honest and workable than the feckless status quo to both The People and other oligarchs.
It is gonna break the world. Someone is gonna Napoleon, Genghis Khan, Lenin, or Alexander the Great the world.
