When you bring ICE anywhere near an election, it flips the whole vibe from “go vote, your voice matters” to “watch your back,” and that kills real democracy. People in mixed‑status families — which is millions of Americans — get spooked even if they are citizens, because nobody wants to risk their loved ones getting caught up in something. That’s the plan. ICE becomes election security in key districts. They can detain anyone they want under suspicion of being here illegally, including citizens. Hold them until after the polls close then release.
