    >A Gordie Howe hat trick is when a hockey player scores a goal, records an assist, and gets into a fight all in the same game. It is named after the legendary player Gordie Howe, who was known for his all-around skills and toughness on the ice.

  2. Sure, let’s start negotiations immediately.

Canada can go first: “Fuck off. Thank you for your attention to this matter, now get off our bridge.”

This isn’t about a bridge. It’s about reminding everyone that even finished infrastructure still needs a political blessing to exist.

The wild part is how normalized this is now. We build real things with real money, then let them sit hostage to vibes, grudges, and negotiation theater. That’s not strong leadership, it’s just bureaucratic chicken dressed up as nationalism.

Is this the part where Canada is supposed to rename it after Trump?

For context, the US wouldn’t allocate funding for the bridge so Canada paid 100% of the $6B cost. Now Canada will collect tolls to pay it off.

The real story is the owner of the Ambassador Bridge wants to keep their monopoly and had been pressuring Trump for a decade to axe the deal.

Also, in the same tirade Trump says that China will terminate all hockey and ban the Stanley Cup as part of their new trade deal with Canada. Joke’s on him – Canadian teams are doing just fine at keeping the Cup out of Canada without help.

  5. Nothing says ‘pro-growth’ like blocking a $6 billion trade artery that’s already 90% finished. Peak efficiency.

  6. I grew up in Detroit and still follow local politics/issues a lot.

Basically NONE of what Trump said in his “Truth Social” post is factually correct.

That’s usually the case, of course. But just pointing it out.

He’s stating that we, canada, are gonna start negotiating “immediately “… He’s begging for a negotiation but he doesn’t want to look weak by asking for one. He’s so fucking desperate for a win.

When Trump starts arresting us at the polls and rigs the voting machines with Elon, Americans will flee. Trump knows this. He needs to start boxing us in more and more. Won’t be long before he closes entry points to Mexico and Canada, that’s my dark prediction anyhow. Though at this point I’m not sure Canada would take American citizens on like that.

Our grandchildren will still be paying for the sins of maga voters.

  9. What the fuck is up with his weird obsession about China banning hockey? Like where the fuck did that even come from? lmao

  10. I think it’s time to stop American trucks using Ontario as a shortcut from Niagara to Detroit or Port Huron. They can go around the long way.

  11. Why is this dolt ALWAYS undermining our relationships with other countries?

Can we sack the child and get an ADULT in the White House??

    PLEASE?

I’m SO tired of this bullshit!

Canada should rename the 401 the FU-47 highway. (Also being considered as the new name for any Gripens Canada buys instead of American F-35s. /s)

We haven’t accomplished anything as a country in ten years because of this whiny bitch.

It would be really non-sensical and dumb, but us Canadians should just….undo our half of the bridge lol. Create jobs by dismantling it or something lol. Sure it hurts us but genuinely if we can’t open it, it’s just another avenue to “invade” us from and isn’t helping our economy then.

Then if the Americans want to finish it, THEY can pay the bill this time. Fair is fair.

  15. What his word salad fails to mention is both the Republicans in Lansing did everything they could to stop this bridge because the billionaire and Republican doner Matty Maroun owns the ambassador bridge (the only privately held border crossing in the US). Rick Snyder actually went against his party to get this built, and unlike his fucking wall….

CANADA PAID FOR IT. The us didn’t pay a dime despite it providing tons of us construction jobs and will greatly increase commerce between the two nations.
