There was a soundbite on NPR a few days ago of Trump literally saying – like everyone is an idiot for asking – “because I told her to go there.” How is this still even a debate?

It’s also possible he didn’t remember the phone call and that he’s mentally incompetent, which is probably worse considering he holds the keys to the nuclear arsenal.
The fact that he was on the phone with her doesn’t necessarily preclude his knowing anything about what was going on at the moment. He may have thought he was on the phone with his first wife.

Well, perhaps they were chatting about how she wasn’t in the office and he didn’t want her to work remotely. Not at all.
Who cares honestly??? In over a year he hasn’t even come close to to being put in check!!! Who honestly could enforce anything upon him? And what would it take? He’s never punished other than an occasional lawsuit, but practically just goes about his life unscathed with no repercussions.
