Another government sop to an ailing industry. There is perhaps no greater sign of the coal industry’s decline than Trump’s demand that the Pentagon purchase more energy generated by coal. If powering military bases with coal was the best option, no edict from the government would be necessary.

This edict from trump is among the stupidest things I’ve heard this whole week.
Stupid doesn’t even explain it. I suspect sabotage. Everything Trump does makes the USA weaker. I think it is on purpose. He is a highly compromised Russian asset.
yeah but that would be free market capitalism, which is (checks calendar) incompatible with conservative principles!
But the coal industry requires a return on their bribes paid to Trump so taxpayer money shall be wasted.
If pure capitalism worked, then the market would decide, and coal would likely disappear from the US energy market.
