Nice article. It’s remarkable to me how anybody would take a position against wind and solar.
The cost of electricity throughout the country just continues to rise while the cost of installed solar panels on homes and businesses is still dropping and becoming more efficient.
Listening to any self proclaimed genius claim that those that use solar power have their lights go out when the sun goes down is pretty absurd.
We still need improved storage technology. But even without that, on the sunniest of days in the summer with the highest peak demand coming when the sun is shining, brightest, solar will help keep the grid from collapsing.

We have an amazing coast for wind as evidenced by those real world capacity factors which are amazing.
Not only do we have consistent wind we bave a fairly shallow shelf which extends pretty far and makes building offshore a bit easier.
