The White House invited the U.S. women’s hockey team to attend Donald Trump’s State of the Union on Tuesday, but the players said they are unable to attend.
A spokesperson for the team told NBC News’ Monica Alba that the team, which won the gold medal at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, was “sincerely grateful” for the recognition, but the players are unable to attend “due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments.”
And they probably didn’t want him to make awkward comments about their appearance or grope at their genitalia.

I’m Canadian and was devastated we lost to both the USA’S men’s and women hockey teams but as a woman, this makes me proud for them, their president was so fucking dismissive of them, they played really well, are incredible athletes and their president only cared when the men won, fuck the male players for not having their back when Trump made jokes about them.
