  1. From the article:

Numerous names pertaining to ICE and other agencies were submitted to the “You Name a Snowplow” contest, put on annually by the Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation, but the ‘Abolish ICE’ name was nominated by approximately 70% of the more than 13,000 submissions in the contest, according to Block Club Chicago.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson had endorsed the name during the contest’s voting period, which took place in recent weeks.

“This truck being named ‘Abolish ICE’ has my full and complete endorsement,” he said.

  2. “Abolish ice” is taking the danger off our streets. Seems very fitting, ice is doing the same.

  3. Unfortunately in Minnesota our snowplow contest doesn’t allow “political” names, or we would have plenty of similar ones. Well done, Chicago!
