  1. Will these Americans show up at the polling booths, and vote for a party that will actually be decent on the topic? Or will most of them again stay home because of some imaginary, righteous, bullshit stand they’ll be taking?

  2. Because the brutality and savagery of the response was disproportional to the attack. Netanyahu was blind to managing the appearance of professional military action and exceeded limits.

Israel had a right to respond, but they went too far as did the US leadership (Both Biden and Trump).

This sympathy seems a few years to late. We told you so, seems very hollow at this point.

  4. The_Playbook88 on

Of course. One side is committing a genocide, and the other is not. Internal research from Democratic strategist show that the Gaza situation was a major reason Kamala lost to Trump.

  5. Glass-Amount-9170 on

I’ve always been pro Israel but Netenyahu is just another trump. Guess I’m a perfect example of the shift in feelings.

  6. >While a significant majority of Democrats polled say they sympathise more with the Palestinians than the Israelis (65 per cent vs 17 per cent), much of the broader shift was driven by independent voters who now favour the Palestinians by 41 per cent compared with 30 per cent for Israelis. Last year they favoured Israelis by 42 per cent versus 34 per cent for the Palestinians.

    >Among Republicans, sympathy for the Israelis has declined by 10 points since 2024 to reach its lowest level since 2004, Gallup found.

And Democratic elected officials and candidates will continue to pretend that vocally supporting the right wing MAGA government in Israel will help them win elections. Make it make sense.

  7. Delicious_Toad on

Wait, so you’re saying that the victims of genocide are more sympathetic than the perpetrators?

    Wild.

  8. cscareer_student_ on

Even with that, Gallup included a new question to give a “win”

    > Favorable Views of Israel and the Palestinian Territories

    > Next, I’d like your overall opinion of some foreign countries. What is your overall opinion of [country]? Is it very favorable, mostly favorable, mostly unfavorable or very unfavorable?

Remember how they also stopped taking presidential approval polls?

  9. Well Netanyahu said he’d change the geopolitical map of the Middle East, he didn’t realize he meant that he’d accidentally make recognizing a Palestinian state necessary to win a Democratic primary.

  10. Its frankly painful watching Bibi burn Israel’s international reputation just so he can cling to power and avoid getting his corrupt ass thrown in jail

  11. BrilliantForeign8899 on

If you read the recent news about them shooting a 14 yr old boy and watching him bleed out for 45 minutes, forbidding any medical help (kind of like ICE) even if you have Jewish friends and are sympathetic to their pov,  it’s near impossible not to be disgusted with the constant cruelty. These are just kids. I don’t think it’s equal tit for tat either, the scale of the violence is not equal. And many of us aren’t even close to any Palestinians in daily life so have no reason to see things through their specific pov.

  12. Imakemyownnamereddit on

You can’t dismiss what is happening in Gaza by screaming antisemitism, that isn’t some magic get out that allows Israel to do what it likes and be accountable to no-one.

They are making war on civilians and it is a war they could easily win but at what cost to the Jewish people?

Win a war and lose their souls in the process.

  13. ValhirFirstThunder on

with internet and social media it is much easier to get information that isn’t just mainstream media and more live videos of what is happening

  14. And that’s why many Americans voted for a president that deeply cares about that region in 2024

    /s

  15. Yeah that tracks. In the beginning it felt like retaliation for the terrorist attack and now it’s way beyond that. It’s hard not to feel bad for Palestinians when their home has been turned into rubble and their family and children have been slaughtered en masse.

  16. Mysterious_Cry41 on

Well ya. You have to be utterly fucking deranged to think Israel has responded proportionally or appropriately.

Actually they’ve done the exact opposite and then claimed absolute rights to do so. It’s repulsive.

Not only that, but  their propoganda is just constant, but much of it  it’s so fucking shit it makes me actively hostile to their cause As if I’m supposed to just accept every claim they make as self evident and obvious. It’s fucking weird and I don’t even know how to fully explain it.  So much of it just  comes across as totally insular and detached from reality.

  17. ChefCurryYumYum on

I always did. People tend to blame the side with all of the power more when you take propaganda out of it and Israel has all the power and has for decades.

  18. Polls of American Jews have found that even this group, with it’s long and deep loyalty to Israel, has significant opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza and persecution of Palestinians in the West Bank.

  19. This is a big part of the reason Bibi is pushing Trump to go to war now. They realize that after decades of hoodwinking most Americans into supporting Israel, they pushed too far and have now lost the PR war for good. The majority of folks condemn their actions in Gaza and Americans are sick of seeing their tax dollars go to this genocide “state”.

It’s now or never if they want to bait the US into a war with Iran.

  20. About fucking time. Only several generations too late.

And we all already know, you lack the political will to put an end to the horrors even as you find them and every politician bends the knee to genocides.

  21. PrimaryPiglet2357 on

Fuck Israel! Jews are cool. Fuck any and every Imperialist-colonist nation. Yes, that includes the USA too!

  22. And all it took was leveling gaza, murdering women and children and performing every atrocity imaginable on a populations. Are we supposed to now congratulate you on having the most basic level of human fucking empathy?

  23. I sympathize with both Israeli and Palestinian civilians who don’t support their disgusting respective leadership, and want peace.

I do not sympathize with anyone on either side who supports any additional harm on the other side. Period.

  24. KarateKicks100 on

Simping for an extremist religious death cult that wants America dead. So tight. So progressive

  25. cyberspaceman777 on

It’s quite impossible not to when you see literally what Israel has done.

There isn’t a building left standing.

  26. ilikeCRUNCHYturtles on

Anyway, here are 7 more genocide enabling Israel loving democratic presidential nominees, enjoy!

  27. OfficialDCShepard on

It should just be about civilians vs. both leaderships that have manipulated people for decades into the worst prisoner’s dilemma, but people just love playing team sports with tragedies these days, and the teams are Brown Supremacism vs. White Supremacism so nobody wins.

  28. TheRealBlueJade on

I sympathize, more importantly, I empathize, with anyone who is suffering.

Pain and suffering is not a contest. The worst pain we can know is the one we are personally facing.

  29. Israel had so much good will after October 7th and completely fumbled it. Netanyahu is evil and he’s also just an idiot.

  30. Because Israelis have turned into the thing they claim they hated. A genocidal killing machine.

  31. whitewateractual on

Some advice: the correct term is “ultra-Zionist” the label “Jewish Supremacists” is not technically correct as the idea of “Jewish supremacy” is sort of antithetical to Judaism. And still, please be considerate using these terms because we hear them used incorrectly all the time, or used as dog whistles for “Jews.” If you have any Jewish friends, I would recommend having an open and honest discussion with them how these labels can be considered anti-Semitic in some context, and counterproductive when discussing ending the war and long peace. Be well ✌️

  32. If you have to launch a massive ad campaign to advertise you’re a victim, you probably arent

  33. Why can’t we sympathize with both groups? The civilians are innocent in this, it’s their leaders that are absolutely evil
