  1. >The Department utilized an “11th hour” legal loophole on Tuesday, just one day before a hearing in a lawsuit filed against the state by AIDS Healthcare Foundation over changes to its AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).

    >With the new limitations going into effect Sunday, March 1, those being cut from the program have been left in a state of shock and scrambling for solutions.

    >“The stress this is causing for many of us living with HIV right now is indescribable,” Michael Rajner, an HIV advocate and longtime ADAP client, told the press. “The fear, the panic of not knowing where to turn to [within] a health care system in this state that’s falling apart.”

    >House and Senate [Democrats](https://www.advocate.com/democratic-party) also spoke out against the questionable utilization of the emergency rule. Sen. Shevrin Jones called the move “reckless” and added, “Florida should not be the state that turns a preventable budget issue into a preventable public health emergency.”

What Desantis is doing is murderous and genocidal.

Christian nationalists are literally committing genocide through measures like this. And yet, centrists like Gavin Newsom say we need to be “culturally normal” in the face of attempted murder.

Christian nationalists are literally enacting policies to bring forth their genocidal fantasies, and the media and Gavin Newsom are lecturing us on being nice and “civil” to the other side, in order to appeal to a center that wants us dead. Just gross.

  2. And now 12,000 HIV infected Floridians will maliciously go to buffet restaurants and lick the plates.

But I thought the GOP was trying to “Make America Healthy Again”. I can’t tell with this decision

  4. How many active Christians in that Florida administration are going to church in two days without a care in the world?

  5. Please I want someone who is Republican or both sides to explain why this isn’t pure unadulterated evil?

Trump was notoriously phobic of AIDS. When he won in 2016 I tried to calm myself by saying he’d put a lot of funding into finding a cure and preventing it.

  7. Would someone explain to me what the legal loophole is that allowed Florida to do this? I read the article but they never explained why Florida did this.

  8. If fascist Trump and his MAGA freaks had ovens, they would exterminate all LGBTQ, just to start; these people are crazed psychopathic killers – full stop

  9. Fuck Florida. Literally just a pit of despair. I hate so much that too many people like my mother just blindly say “I want to live here” gurl, no tf you don’t.

  10. I’m not shocked.

You’d have to have been in a coma for the past decade in America to be shocked right now.

I’m old enough to remember when republicans screamed about Obama’s “death panels.”

  12. I said after covid that the idea was to let people die to get them off the system. This latest stunt in Minnesota is another test.

  13. There is no excuse for this. They have needlessly hurried along the deaths of so many people.

These soulless idiots think HIV *only* affects gay people.

Im glad that my humanity and morality is intact. Could never imagine doing something like this, ever.

Nice. Way to get HIV spreading again. Upsetting a stable apple cart must give them a sick thrill.

HIV meds aren’t luxury-they’re what keeps people alive. Florida just proved they’re willing to let 12,000 people die to make a political point. Let that sink in.
