  1. “and *one* Republican”

I think that says it all, about the party and about who is controlling the country. And that doesn’t even guarantee the one republican would vote with the Dems.

  2. It was reported about a week ago that Congress was considering this. I even heard that there were some GOP members that also wanted to act. But, no, even though they all knew this was imminent, they sat on their hands and did nothing. They are playing politics with the lives of service members. F*ck them all.

Republicans do not have the balls to go up against Donny-wanna-be-nobel-prize-winners war machine.

  4. This is an unserious party. They should have been reapportioning power for the better part of 2 decades. Instead they were complacent.

  5. Didn’t they demand this last week? All talk no action. Drain all the swamp. Get new folks in. Enough of these moderates.

Too late. You let the federal government wage war on its own citizens. You voted to fund it. All of it.

  7. This won’t happen because this military action is unpopular, and members who are in favor of it don’t want to be on record.

  8. so, we all knew this was coming – they have been openly saying so for the past week – you should have been demanding it LAST f’in week. WTF. You are complicit for not working to stop it in advance. Man our govt is so f’kd

  9. Trump, “congress said No? I’ll stop, then.” Like that’s going to happen. The DIC, Dictator in Chief, will do anything he wants.

Democrats demand war powers vote after U.S. strikes Iran … so they can officially express their approval of the unprovoked attack.

This administration’s tactic has been to ignore the law, wait for the courts to weigh in, and then ignore the rulings if they’re not favorable. And by the time it even gets to court it’s too late.

At this point it doesn’t matter what congress does or says because we’re already at war now.

  12. They need to do simply worded dumbed down branding like Trump. Call it the “don’t let Don start WWIII act”

Democrats if they are smart: “Republicans want you to let Trump go to war. Don’t let them. Vote blue this midterm!”

For the record, Iran was in full compliance with the JCPOA until the Turdgerine clown pulled us out of the agreement.

America, and much of the world, are less safe because of that stupid child fucker.

  15. Rubio looked very somber and stressed at the SOU. When Trump complimented him, he was almost despondent.

Republicans demand Trump be allowed to wave the might of the US military around like a massive dong as he sees fit with no oversight whatsoever.

  17. They’re demanding a vote so they can vote *against* it, right? Right?

Or are the Dems using their usual political savvy to attach their name onto another disastrous bloodbath that’s going to have repercussions for half a century or more?

  18. Regardless of party, Congress asserting its war powers is literally how the system is designed to work. Military action shouldn’t bypass debate.

  19. Let’s get an official list of the republicans who were just blowing smoke with that “president of peace” bullshit.

  20. Everyone who is saying it’s too late is missing the point. He is just going to do it again. We need to act, this is ridiculous.
