  1. The War Power Act isn’t a suggestion. We cannot continue to let the executive branch bypass Congress on acts of war.

  2. “Trump’s ____ was illegal”

The blank can be filled with so many things.

  3. And yet, our soldiers followed the illegal orders. Some of them to their grave. Maybe some of them shoulda called the hotline

Illegal according to whom, enforced by whom? Congress had multiple chances to reassert war powers authority over the last decade and passed every time. The law exists. The will to use it doesn’t.

I keep seeing their defense, “Obama did it”

    SO FUCKING WHAT

    He was wrong too

  6. Just add it to the list of illegal activities that he is performed and still, nothing will be done

  7. And the reason he attacked is because the republicans have sat back and done absolutely nothing.

  8. It was *illegal?!*

Why didn’t somebody say something?! If only he’d known!

We fucking know. We know he’s illegitimate and not actually the president. We know he’s a child rapist. We know he killed a child by drowning.

Congress decides on war. Not the president. We. Know.

  10. Congress has steadily over the decades abdicated their power to the executive branch..  I highly doubt enough republicans want to go against Trump to restrict his ability to attack Iran.  The average American is annoyed by this but certainly not to the point of mass protest, air wars against dictatorships thousands of miles away aren’t a great protest motivator

It seems like few of the people commenting here actually read the article. The illegality under US law is that Trump didn’t formally notify Congress in writing within 48 hours of starting hostilities, not that the so-called President of Peace started another fucking useless war.

Despite the Constitution’s intent, Congress has been full of dumbasses for decades who have steadily given the President more and more power to start “military conflicts” without permission from Congress. The President can do this for 60 days without any Congressional consent.

and no one will do anything about it. American democracy fails again.
