Would certainly explain the lack of contingency planning…

So we know the Evangelists are driving this…

I fully expect a nuke this week.

“But we must not forget that in our country are evangelists and zealots of many different political, economic and religious persuasions whose fanatical conviction is that all thought is divinely classified into two kinds — that which is their own and that which is false and dangerous.”

    What the ever-loving absolute *fuck*:

    >For some U.S. military commanders, the emerging war in Iran is part of a biblical plan to bring about the end of the world as we know it, according to complaints filed by over 100 service members.

    >The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received a litany of complaints about religious ideology seeping into military orders since the U.S. and Israel began bombing Iran, independent journalist Jon Larsen first reported.

    >Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of MRFF, a nonprofit group established 21 years ago that focuses on ensuring constitutional protections for service members, spoke with HuffPost by phone Tuesday morning and illuminated some details of the complaints, which have come from more than three dozen military units situated in at least 30 different military installations.

    >“We started getting calls in the wee hours of Saturday morning from people saying their commanders were just jubilant about this and trying to tell people, ‘Don’t worry, it’s all part of God’s plan,’” Weinstein said.

    >Weinstein said the “metric promised” in the Bible’s Book of Revelation is horrifying and should worry everyone.

    >“They are promised a 200-mile-long river that is four-and-a-half feet deep filled with nothing but the blood that their weaponized version of Jesus will spill at the Battle of Armageddon,” Weinstein said. “That’s a lot of blood.”

    >Part of what makes the accounts so disturbing, Weinstein said, is that service members aren’t able to push back when they’re given orders that blur the line regarding the separation of church and state.

    >“This is all about time, place and manner,” he said. “If you’re being proselytized to by your superior, you can’t say, ‘Get out of my face.’ Under the military’s criminal code of justice, insubordination is considered a felony.”

According to the complaint first reported by Larsen, the commander said President Donald Trump “has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”

    >The commander “had a big grin on his face when he said all of this which made his message seem even more crazy,” the complaint said.

Weinstein said some service members called him on Sunday to report that they were being invited to Bible studies at their commanders’ personal homes to “discuss how this was all part of the plan and it’s all being lived out in the Book of Revelation and Christian eschatology.”

    >Commanders were “in a hurry” to get subordinates on board, according to the complaints received by MRFF.

Born to late to die in the Middle East, born to early to die in the Middle East, born just in time to die in the Middle East

  6. Is this fulfilling the prophecy that we’ll protect Israel from the Persians, so Jesus will return? smh The Bible has gotten more innocent people killed than any other book. It’s time we move past it as a society.

  7. Prophesy isn’t real. Magical thinking doesn’t belong in military leadership.

I hope some patriots in the military cut out the cancer.

  8. I’m so tired of religious nuts in this country. When I lived in the UAE in the 90s religion was never jammed down our throats by locals. That was one of the major things I noticed when we moved to the states in 2000. Religion and assholes everywhere.

Welp …. if we start Armageddon …. it’s been nice knowing you Ladies and Gents.

  10. Le evangelicals have been trying to take over the military for decades. It was a known problem in the ’90s when I was in and the FBI used to track it. The new officers I met were all complaining about the evangelicals, forcing them to go to church dinners and stuff.

  11. So they are telling troops to prepare to die.

How do you stop our military from leading, or misleading our soldiers on foolhardy missions in what they think is a holy war?

  12. So what could be the actual end goal here? Setting up a subservient Iranian regime? Stealing natural resources?

  13. I wonder if it has occured to any of them that Trump is the Anti-Christ and the USA is on the evil side of Armageddon.

  14. Trump, the fascist war-mongering pedophile

Shame on you people for thinking this, the guy who can’t even recite a Bible verse, is your savior.

Gullible people will destroy the world.

I’m starting to think the lead pipe problem in the US was on purpose.

  15. Troops knowing $800bn dollars were spent per year since 2001, “you mean we need more?”

If their allegiance is to Jesus, they would put down their arms and turn the other cheek because *that’s what Jesus would do!* They must be reading the wrong Bible..

Absolutely ridiculous. We’re blowing up elementary school girls and our troops are being told insane fundamentalist doomsday prophecies? I’m sorry but what exact grounds do we have to call the Iranians the radical nutjobs here? There’s one hell of a beam in our eye at the moment.

  18. Someone needs to tell these yahoos that bombing the middle East won’t make Jesus return any sooner.

Anybody in this day and age who still falls for this shit is a lost cause. This isn’t a righteous war for soldiers to throw their lives into—he’s a fucking pedophile! What business does anyone have following, supporting, or dying for that man? I’m so fucking irritated.

  20. so what are the mental gymnastics the maga morons are going through now and what are their new talking points??

after leaving the Ukrainians on their own?? the USA could have led a NATO coalition of Europe and utterly decimate russian invading force in Ukraine and restore it completely. This would have UNIFIED the free world of Europe and Americas against totalitarian dictatorships.

Ukraine is a country whose defense is utterly necessary for the security of Europe and the FREE WORLD as letting russia free reign sends the message to dictator putin that he can storm right through Moldova and the Baltics.

Luckily the Ukrainians are demonstrating their bravery and defending their freedom and sovereignty valiantly (from the crushing boot of totalitarianism) despite numerical disadvantages

instead all I heard we cannot have any new wars. War is on the Europe doorstep. Instead donald tells Germany to rearm!! How short-sighted and ignorant of history is he??

And now US is led into a war in Iran by the in charge maga moron donald… he openly says more Americans will DIE! For what exactly???

Just hear me out: We know this is a death cult. It is Lent. Are they trying to bring on the ‘End Times’ just in time for the holiest day in the Christian calendar?

  22. PresentAwareness745 on

they are trying the usher in the end times on purpose

    just like last time 🙄

Maybe this is sacrilege, but in my opinion, if Jesus were to come back to Earth and see what’s being done in His name, he’d be shocked, disgusted, and thoroughly disappointed in humanity. The actions being taken in His name bare no resemblance to his teachings of love, acceptance, caring for the weak… (I’m not a religious person, so I’m hardly an expert on this topic. And I realize there was Jesus the man vs what is claimed to be his teachings. But claiming one is Christian, then doing the s^%t that they’re doing here and across the planet is shocking. I also realize this is not new – humans have been using religion as a cudgel forever. But I’m shocked that people still accept it as a rational argument)

  24. XcuseMeMisISpeakJive on

I don’t think these people have actually read the Bible. If they had, then they’d realize they’re the baddies.

  25. The only hilarious thing is that these racist, sexist pedophiles somehow think facing God’s judgement will somehow work out in their favor.

  26. People have been saying for centuries, the end times are upon us. Take the Saxon’s of England during the Viking invasion. Calling the Vikings brought by the devil, yet that was 1200 years ago and the world’s still kicking. I hate religion and I hate zealous Christian leaders that force their religiosity on us all
