    The poll from Public Policy Polling says:

    * Talarico 44%, Cornyn 43%
    * Talarico 47%, Paxton 45%

    So no matter who wins the Republican primary runoff, Talarico is leading according to this poll. For Texas, this is huge. There really is a chance that Texas flips blue this year.

    One poll this early means almost nothing, but the fact that it’s even competitive in Texas is the actual story.

  3. Hillary and Kamala were both +8-10%. I’m sure we have nothing to worry about in Texas where a democrat has not won this seat in 30 years.

  4. Election twist: to cast a ballot, voters must bring a note from their mother’s obstetrician verifying they were born American.

    The republicans are doing their best to pretend to be Crockett supporters as black sock puppets talking about “we just need to sit out and let this electable white boy try to win” and it’s so obvious. It’s all over twitter and facebook and threads. And honestly they only need Turn off 1% to keep the seat red.

  6. the waay to early poll says he has a chance…. look im all for the guy, and would love to see the seismic eruption if he wins, but this is basically a popularity poll at the moment with talarico in favorable news. paxton and the gop are going to sling endless mud and a likely unfathomable amount of money at paxton to keep him or in office or elect cornyn.

  7. They are already having talking points about his Christianity on Facebook and even our Preacher made a semantic argument about his statement God was nonbinary which was a subtle way to say what he thinks of Talarico’s views of Christianity without an harsher attack, not I think that the church I attend is likely high him anyways since we live in a deep red county.

    Article says it’s by 1 point and 2 points respectively.

    Don’t get complacent, show up in November and vote!

    This is also why the GOP is trying to ram through the SAVE act that would require women who took their spouses name to re-register to vote using their birth certificate.

    Hopefully, Paxton and Cornyn tear each other apart in their run-off, Paxton wins and is an ungracious ass about it, and Cornyn endorses Talarico for “moral, spiritual” reasons.

  10. Ken Paxton got indicted, impeached, and still made the runoff. Texas Republicans really don’t send their best.

  11. This is a poll done by a democratic sponsor. Not that it isn’t with merit, but take it with a grain of salt

  12. Brace yourselves. All the big money GOP backers are about to go after him in an all out multi-million dollar blitz. There’s think tanks working with focus groups at this very moment to figure out the best lies to sell about him.

    Remember, progressive politicians win when people vote. When Cruz beat O’Rourke in 2018, 47% of texans didnt vote

    Polls mean nothing. It pulls people at that moment it doesn’t account for decisions made after the poll.
