    >Roughly seven months ago, Ukrainian officials tried to sell the White House the technology to destroy Iran’s inexpensive, low-flying drones, going so far as to compile a PowerPoint presentation to sway the admin. The intel was battle-proven: Ukraine has more experience fighting Shaheds than practically any other country, downing the same design under Russia’s flag (Russia rebranded the military tech as “Geran drones”).

    >The decision to snub the offer is now being discussed as one of the biggest miscalculations thus far in the Iran war.

  2. Trump is very, very stupid. And arrogant. And also he has dementia. And he’s a Russian asset. And he’s delusional.

Trump thinking he knows better than experienced battle hardened professionals?

    Shocked?

    Anyone?

  4. Every time more examples of profound incompetence emerge from the Epstein administration I am shocked, not at the incompetence itself, for we’re all used to that, but at the fact that it can still surprise me.

  5. Massive L indeed.

“Iran’s Shahed attack drones had proved a more difficult problem than initially predicted.”

This is a massive understatement. There was this one video all over social media where a single HESA 136 impacted and exploded a 1 billion+ dollar THAAD radar array. The Shahed and it’s Russian derivates are the most cost effective weapon of the 21st century. The Americans fielding their own models now even.

  6. Once again – calling this a “tactical error” is complete BS.

Not considering that Iran, that supplies Russia with drones to use against Ukraine (or did? is Russia producing 100% domestic now?), would use drones to retaliate, with large numbers is not a tactical error. Forcing the military into a conflict that they were not prepared for with no justification (except Trump’s own, on the record – “to create a distraction” videos from years ago) is not a tactical error. Not having anti-drone technology developed, and deployed again – is not a tactical error.

It’s complete lack of understanding of what’s going on.

The entire administration was apparently also completely shocked that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz would impact global energy prices.

    It’s a complete blunder.

  7. I don’t think there was enough thought going on to consider this a “tactical error”

This is a dude that doesn’t know checkers from chess.

Imagine how absolutely mind-numbingly *stupid* you would have to be to *not* know the #1 issue in Iran, after all of the big targets are wiped out, are the Shahed drones, capable of being flung in any direction at any moment, and that the elimination of the Shahed therefore the number one problem that doesn’t actually *need* to be solved, because Ukraine has already dealt with TENS OF THOUSANDS OF THEM. *What does that actually mean?* It means Ukraine has defensive solutions *ALREADY* in place. Cost effective solutions. All you had to do was use them.

Imagine being *this* slow and stupid, incapable of looking ahead and planning anything, really, that you wouldn’t have already had those solutions waiting in the wings, instead waiting until AFTER the fact, with trillions of dollars on the line via the oil and gas fueling the entire global economy. That’s MAGA, though. It’s not *surprising*. It is pathetic. And they just *will not* hold themselves accountable.

  9. “Tactical Error” makes it sound like there was considerable thoughtfulness that went into it.

Trump is just a narcissistic, impulsive moron

Calling anything he does a “tactical error” is wrong on a fundamental level, because there are demonstrably no tactics involved in either his thinking or actions.

  11. Not interested in the plans for your opponent’s most important weapon?

Wtf? How many people will die of lose their homes and livelihoods because of this?

The Trump administration is just immeasurably stupid and incompetent.

When you don’t want society ruled by academics and instead prefer magic books.

  13. Not fucking children on exclusive island somewhere? Oh right, hundreds of Iranian girls died.

This guy can’t get away from harming children .

  14. When is the last time that fat orange dipshit didn’t make a massive tactical error?

  15. The biggest tactical error was starting a land war in the Middle East in the first damn place. 2nd was putting someone like Hegseth in charge of it.

It was always obvious to anyone with any military understanding that Ukraine was doing a fantastic service to the west 1st by battle testing their hardware and later by developing new tools and tactics. But they are always portrayed as needy victims. Insane

  17. Counterpoint. The US electing Trump twice has been the biggest tactical error in American history, maybe world history.

I wish people would stop falling for the he’s a bumbling fuck act.

    Russia is under sanctions.

The only area they’re not under sanctions is oil and gas exports. The oil price has been due to largely greener energy sources plummeting for a while.

This has meant the money Russia has been able to amass has been less and so a war was needed to push the price up again. European oil companies can diversify to get a chunk of the green dollar. American ones less so and Russian ones not at all.

It’s not a miscalculation that the oil price has spiked it’s a way for American oil companies to get paid Russian oil companies to funnel more money into the Russian war machine. That’s it.

Everything else is the usual bumble fuck routine which the world looks on and does nothing about because they’re all over leveraged with oil concerns.

    It’s really that simple.

But let’s keep on playing their game of oh no the clown did a dumb thing and we’ll fail to look any deeper.
