Merely CCL trying to cast blame for yet another failed consumer carbon tax, rather than coming to terms with its deep and pervasive unpopularity. Give it up already.
Cap-and-trade has been more effective and durable. So have bans and mandates. Sharply raising taxes on lower and middle income people doesn’t work, no matter how many times you promise someone they’ll get their money back in a rebate someday.
