I love having elected representatives old enough to have terminal diagnoses or age related mental conditions such that they either won’t see or understand the consequences of their actions.
I listened to this live. I’m very much a centrist and select my stances on an a la carte basis, and I was SCREAMING at my phone. Not only did he divulge very private medical history about someone else, but he also shared how he introduced this man to his white house doctors, and they had him in surgery hours later, and he is receiving top-of-the-line care that the majority of Americans would never dream of having access to. Do you see fucking inequity yet?! Someone I know just got diagnosed with cancer and has been waiting for our local cancer center to reach out about next steps, and it’s been over a week of waiting and worrying at this point.
To make it worse, he was bragging about how they’ve upgraded the marble floor to onyx in this white house ballroom. He talked about the parties they’ll have and the room they’ll use for cocktail hours. Well THANK FUCKING GOD they now have a place to dress up and schmooze while most americans can barely afford rent, let alone buy a house.
Nearly every politician in our government is completely out of touch with the American experience. We should all be fucking outraged, left, right, center, upside down, I don’t care where you stand politically, the “other side” is not the problem. **The people in power, on both of these perceived sides, are the fucking problem.
