“The chairman of the US House of Representatives’ Committee on Government Oversight and Reform subpoenaed Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday over her management of the investigation into the late financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
On February 11, the House Judiciary Committee questioned Bondi over her compliance with the Epstein investigation, which was allegedly hamstrung by the Department of Justice (DOJ) after it withheld nearly 3 million documents related to Epstein despite the supposed release of the “Epstein files.” Additionally, in releasing the files, redaction errors may have exposed victims’ identities. The subpoena, signed by committee Chairman James Comer, stated:
As Attorney General, you are directly responsible for overseeing the Department’s collection, review, and determinations regarding the release of files pursuant to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the Committee therefore believes that you possess valuable insight into these efforts. The Committee may use the results of this investigation to inform legislative solutions to improve federal efforts to combat sex trafficking and reform the use of non-prosecution agreements and/or plea agreements in sex-crime investigations.
The subpoena also referenced clause 4(c)(2) of Rule X of the Rules of the House of Representatives, which enables the House to have the broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time”.
The Epstein Transparency Act, signed into law November 2025, mandated that the DOJ “publish (in a searchable and downloadable format) all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in DOJ’s possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein.”
Peter Mandelson, former UK ambassador to the US, and Jack Lang, a former cultural minister of France, are the latest high-profile people arrested due to their connection with the Epstein files.
Bondi is scheduled to appear at a deposition before the committee on April 14.”

The DOJ withheld 3 million documents from an investigation into the DOJ’s handling of an investigation. The ouroboros of accountability.
