“It’s not political” applies to a lot of things, but nowadays I mostly see it invoked by people who want to shut down conversations about the heinous, obviously political shit they support.

This right here is what Christian love *actually* looks like.
Life is political. It shouldn’t be, but when a large portion of the population thinks some people are inherently inferior and less deserving of basic human rights, then their very existence becomes political.
Human rights should be a no brainer.

I love how the American media calls it an “ICE facility.”
It is a “concentration camp” or “detention camp.”
It is literally where the American government is detaining and concentrating – what they consider undesirables – WITHOUT trial.
But sure sanitize what these places really are for the masses.
Doesn’t fool me.
One side says kids shouldn’t be stuck in prison and fed worm-ridden food, and the other says they’re radicalized by basic decency.
Yeah we’ve reached the point of our history that not wanting children born in this country in concentration camps is political folks.

Our lives are shaped by policies and laws and a million decisions that are made by people with varying levels of power.
