~~How is that supposed to have any effect at all? Elections are run by states.~~

EDIT: Post office, got it. The article was a stub when I asked this.

    The executive order means nothing.

    The states run the elections.

BUT he is hoping someone will sue so they can escalate to the SCOTUS in the meantime.

My friends, guess who just mailed in their ballot? That’s right, Diddlin’ Donnie did!

  5. The red states will obey, blue won’t, thus producing a pretext for the Congress to not certify the election

Republicans are really panicking, midterms are going to wipe them out.

    November is coming.

  8. > According to the Daily Caller, the executive order would require the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to compile a list of verified U.S. citizens in each state who are eligible to vote.

WTF does that have to do with mail-in voting?

  9. I’m looking forward to the next president signing an executive order to immediately put Donald Trump in prison despite whatever pardon he might give himself. If he doesn’t like it, fine he can go ahead and try to sue his way out while he rots there waiting for the process to slowly work its way through the legal system.

  10. Such an Executive order would be ..

    A) illegal

    B) unconstitutional

    C) invalid

    D) dumb (in a way only Trump can do )

My evangelical grandma who hasn’t missed an election in her adult life will have to sit this one out then

  12. 1. Write a nonsense declaration
    2. Get sued
    3. Keep the suit tied up in courts as long as possible
    4. When elections inevitably happen while the suit is ongoing, claim that there was confusion about legality of some votes and use it as a pretext to throw out the election results

  13. Lmfao. Okay orange man. Overstepping your role by a massive margin. Lmfao. This guy thinks he runs states rights. He’s president of the federal government. That’s it. States have their own rules

    >According to the Daily Caller, the executive order would **require the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to compile a list of verified U.S. citizens** in each state who are eligible to vote. DHS would undertake the effort with the Social Security Administration, the Daily Caller wrote, citing a White House fact sheet. The **U.S. Postal Service would then be required under the order to only send mail-in ballots to voters who appear on the list**, according to the Daily Caller. Election authorities in each state typically send out mail ballots to voters, not the Postal Service.

I think I know how this is gonna go:

“Hmm, Smith, Mary, 49, votes demon-rat, definitely not getting a ballot.”

“Okay, Watson, John, 73, votes Republican, okay let’s send him two ballots.”

“Hernandez… Ugh, don’t need to read anymore, no ballot for illegals.”

  15. Trump does another unconstitutional thing and once again all the republicans with their pocket constitutions have vanished like a fart in the wind.
