This shit is corrupt as hell. Makes sense why Trump is opposing regulation on these betting markets. Next Democrat controlled Congress needs to investigate this to its fullest and recommend changes and prosecutions.

This whole thing is a scam. If you are using these markets to bet you are the rube unless you are the one with insider info.

Incompetent leadership. Call Biden whatever you want, he didn’t have to fire any of his cabinet members; this man is barely 2 years in and is already looking to replace a handful of his cabinet members.

For fucks sake stop calling them prediction markets. It’s a gambling site. The odds went up on a gambling site.

This admin is extremely corrupt but there were news articles all yesterday (and possibly before yesterday, I didn’t personally notice them though) that she was probably going to be fired so it’s not unreasonable that people read that and went and made bets.

They also love to leak the story a day ahead. There’s were dozens of threads on Reddit alone the day before saying how Trump was secretly talking about firing her behind the scenes. Same happened before Noem was fired. The news goes out to the inner circle of sycophants who leak the info. Some of them play the gambling game too.

These idiots doing this are so stupid that they don’t realize when they verified their identity they also linked their identity to an account that can be investigated for illegal activity like this. And if they believe these apps are going to shield their identity (which would only make them look bad and make people not want to use their service because fairness is far from guaranteed) they got another thing coming

There are undoubtedly people in this administration that bet on this with insider information, as well as countless instances in the past. However, there was a 20 hour period where the media was reporting on the “imminent” likelihood of her ousting before it actually happened. This isn’t as nakedly corrupt as the other instances like a million shares of a company being bought a minute before Trump announces a contract with them.

The article explains that the odds changed as outlets reported she might be fired

To be fair – I heard about the firing hours before it actually happened.

The fucked up thing is how Don Jr. sits on the board of Kalshi as a ‘cum dumpster’, err ‘strategic consultant’.

  11. Although I agree prediction markets are an insider trading wet dream there were a lot of news reports of this happening before it did

Hey Pam, wanna make a lot of money? I’m going to fire you by tweet, so get on Kalshi and bet against yourself QUICK.

  13. Placeholder4me on

Who exactly is losing money on these services? Like who is betting against these events in enough quantity that others are winning millions?

  14. I mean duh, there were like a dozen news articles in the 12 hours before it happened
