The painful part that Democrat Establishment doesn’t want to admit, is that much of their centrist base are still aligned with parts of Christian Nationalism.
It’s fucked how much of US culture was affected by the self-righteousness, the flag waving, and belief that USA was set forth as God’s chosen country. (That belief overrides Israel to the Armageddon types)
It could be seen at the similarities of sign-offs with speeches at the DNC and RNC, “….and God bless America.”
It is so weak from a narrative and theological standpoint to say “No, we are the good Christians and they are the bad.” That’s just a cage match in a religious bubble.

Me and my sibs grew up culturally Jewish and were fed a whole lot of pro-Israel propaganda growing up and I seem to be the only one who hasn’t fully bought in.
