From Bloomberg Opinion (gift link above):

“President Donald Trump’s war and tariffs are playing a huge role in pushing ordinary ground chuck prices to Wagyu-like levels. But beneath those relatively short-term shocks are the long-term effects of a heating planet. Every trip we take to the grocery store offers a lesson about how climate extremes on the other side of the continent or planet can hit our wallets. And beef is only the start.”

I’m not broke or suffering financially, but I haven’t bought a steak or a cut of beef in ages, $90 for 4 ribeyes or $16 for four double cut bone in pork chops.

I swear a lot of the beef in the store isn’t even getting sold.

  3. Maybe everyone should stop (or reducde) eating beef since it is one of the easiest ways to cut carbon footprint too.

The only beef I like is NY Strip and even then I’m probably gonna choose pork or chicken over it.
