It’s amazing the so-called stable genius never figured out that tariffs, like any ad valorem tax, are inflationary.
That’s why inflation is increasing and everything will continue to rise through the end of the year bc of the war. We’re officially experiencing stagflation which can cause a recession.
Farmers overwhelmingly voted for Trump all three times. This is called getting exactly what you voted for.
I did a double batch of Hungarian goulash a couple days ago. Meat alone (stew beef ~4lbs) and it was $50 for just the beef. This was just from my local Meijer. After I looked up if it was cheaper to just buy a chuck roast and do it myself but nope.

Crazy how we’re repeating the same mistakes from a few years ago and expecting different results. Seeing soybean and corn prices tank while the cost of groceries keeps climbing is a brutal reality check that trade wars are mostly just taxes on everyday Americans.

The administration’s tariffs started fights with 60 different countries. Other nations eventually find new suppliers, and once they do, American farmers almost never win that business back.
That’s one way to get rid of “the poors”. We’ve become a society of haves and starved.

Trump will announce massive farmer subsidies a month before the midterms and Republicans will get most of those farmers back.
Republicans need to vote how their grandparents voted. They can’t not.
The rural voters elected Trump and they still blindly support his economic policies. They get a lot of farm subsidies from Trump so I guess they are happy. Small family farmers get hurt the most. They are the ones you would think to raise hell.

Cancel US AID, increase oil fertilizer prices with an unnecessary war, bail out Argentinas economy and allow them to import their beef, insight retaliatory tariffs, scare off your cheap immigrant farm labor, cancel your Medicaid (which many us farm workers need).
