  1. (From the article): “”The path of the downed aviator is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men,” Hegseth prayed.

“Blessed is he who, in the name of camaraderie and duty, shepherd the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.

“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother. And you will know my call sign is Sandy 1 when I lay my vengeance upon thee, and amen.”

The first few lines of the prayer were written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary in the film Pulp Fiction.

In the movie, the character played by Samuel L Jackson falsely claims they are from the Bible passage Ezekiel 25:17.

The second part of the verse is taken from the Bible, in a condemnation of the Philistines and the Cherethims, foes of the Israelites in the 5th Century BC.

In the movie, Jackson’s character utters the verse before gunning down a small-time criminal who owed his gangster boss money.

But Hegseth’s prayer changed “the LORD” in the Bible so it was instead about the unit involved in the rescue.

Hegseth has been holding regular church services in the Pentagon in recent months.

His comments overnight came as House Democrats filed articles of impeachment against him.”

  2. Profane, in the truest sense of the word. This guy is an abomination. Impeach him now. Disgusting.

“And the Lord said unto thee, does ‘Marcellus Wallace look like a bitch?'” (Book of Quentin 23:52)

  4. I’ve been around a lot of religious nuts academicly, socially, and professionally. If there’s one thing they love its to quote fake Bible verses and wall art sayings with zero awareness that they aren’t from the Bible.  They’re always so sure they’re really in there though

  5. It is hard to find a better encapsulation of the Trump administration than some idiot quoting a movie character who later in the same movie says what he was saying was dumb.

  6. It’s not widely known, but there’s based-on-a-true-story scene in Pulp Fiction from Hegseth’s own childhood, when his dad’s best friend came to visit:

*”This watch I got here was first purchased by your great-grandfather during the First World War… This was your great-grandfather’s war watch and he wore it every day he was in that war…*
*This watch was on your daddy’s wrist when he was shot down over Hanoi… Five long years he wore this watch up his ass. Then, he died of dysentery. He gave me the watch. I hid this uncomfortable hunk of metal up my ass two years… and now, little man, I give the watch to you.”*

Shove it up your ass Pete….

  7. I can’t wait until the organism known as Peter Hegseth is no longer a viable lifeform. The biosphere will be improved when that group of molecules is reclaimed by the Earth.

  8. Between ol Whiskey Pete and Kashapp Patel, I can’t tell who the bigger cosplay dweeb is.

Remember when zealots had the decency to use real Bible quotes for their warmongering?

    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

  10. And none of his fake Christian cohorts knew the difference. Because the loud, proud, evangelical christian set he runs with are… not… Christian and do not read.

What a bunch of losers. Absolute fucking cringe clownass tryhard losers.

    Completely undeserving of any respect.

  12. If anyone think he has actually ever picked up a Bible, i got a invisible flying jet to sell to.

**This** is what the 10 Commandments was prohibiting when it says the bit about not using the Lord’s name in vain; it’s not saying, “don’t say goddamnit”. It’s saying, “don’t claim that God said something he didn’t say”.

Making up Bible verses or intentionally twisting them out of context is quite literally breaking one of the 10 Commandments.

What a fucking tool this guy is. I think I hate this moron the most out of the entire Donnie cabinet

  16. “How cone Tarantino can say it but I can’t?”

Is definitely something Hegseth has asked on more than one occasion.

Hegseth is so fucking cringe. He’ll never have the epiphany that *he’s* the tyranny of evil men.

MAGA won’t notice since they never read the Bible in the first place, You could get up there and quote Shakespeare and those idiots wouldn’t know the difference.

  19. >I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book.

    >Revelation 22:18

Hegseth is deranged, so is Kennedy, unfortunately they’re both in positions where they can do huge amounts of harm.

amazing we need to find out about this from an Australian source because America no longer has a free press.

Makes total sense he would quote that. He tries to act like his quest is biblical but he obviously has no idea what it says in the bible

This perfectly captures maga. They want the sanctimonious pedigree of religion while fabricating it to their desire

  25. “Pentagon sermon,” is something that absolutely should not exist and the Secretary of Defense leading church services even more so.

These people have done more to turn normal people away from christianity than any Satanist every could have. For that, I thank them.

Remember when spelling “potato” wrong virtually ended the political career of a Vice President?
