Political theater. Nothing more. Golden and Davidson played the roles they were paid to.

I opened this up just to find out whom to curse and whom to blame.

Thank goodness for Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, once again. And curses for Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden of Maine, the one democrat who voted against it.

Bought and paid for (from his wiki):

    # Foreign policy

During the [Russo-Ukrainian War](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Ukrainian_War), Golden organized a letter signed by several members of Congress, urging Biden to send [F-16 fighter jets](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-16_fighter_jet) to [Ukraine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine).[^([54])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-54)

During the [Gaza war](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_war), Golden opposed calls for a [ceasefire](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceasefire_proposal_for_Israel-Hamas_war_(May_5)).[^([55])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-55) He voted in favor of providing [$14.3 billion in additional funding](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States-Israel_military_relations) to support Israeli military operations in the [Gaza Strip](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_Strip) at the start of the war.[^([56])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-56) In June 2025, Golden expressed support for President Trump’s [strikes on Iran](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran%E2%80%93Israel_war).[^([57])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-57)[^([58])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-58) Golden voted against March 2026 war powers resolution to end the [2026 Iran war](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Iran_war).[^([59])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Golden#cite_note-59)

This war is already illegal. War was never declared, and all these military operations are unconstitutional. The media failing to be consistent on this obvious and blatant fact is malpractice.

  5. returnofthecursed on

Only one Democrat voted against it, but it really makes you wonder how many others were ready to join in to make sure it didn’t pass. How many of them voted for it knowing that it would fail, just so they could say that they voted for it despite supporting the war?

  6. RimboTheRebbiter on

Crazy how there’s always just enough democrats voting against things to make sure they don’t pass. Crazy how that happens every single time. Almost like its coordinated or something.

  7. thefocusissharp on

Remember, we have the ability to vote them out and take back Congress in the Midterms. Voting works.

  8. lightskinbeaner on

so coincidental that its always one democrat ruining things, maybe Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries should start doing their actual fucking jobs instead of jerking each other off for Israel

  9. iteotwaqkiaiff1 on

I $ure there was a handful of other rep$ that would have been the deciding vote if nece$$ary. It wa$ thi$ dude$ turn thi$ time to take the heat. Next time there, will magically be $omeone el$e making it one vote $hort of a functioning democracy.

  10. It’s always set that way. What the tv show “House of Cards” taught me. Is that there’s awful people in government.

  11. jayfeather31 on

Why does it always feel like there’s always enough Democrats to do horrific things like this?

  12. Damn isn’t it so weird that whenever it comes to big votes like this there is always *juuust* the amount of democratic votes missing that would have pushed it through?

What a strange situation that it is always off by a single vote, or that horrible legislature always passed because *juust* the right amount of democrats suddenly switched sides.

    How weird.

  13. Apprehensive-Air5353 on

Huh, what a weird coincidence to seemingly always fail or succeed by just the right amount of votes so often.

  14. Controlled opposition. Israel did quite the job getting leverage on nearly every US politician via AIPAC and the Child Island Honey Pot.

Which reminds me, where are those un redacted Epstein files again?

  15. No-Swimming4153 on

It’s crazy how the exact number of Democrats always manage to flip. These coincidences sure feel like consistencies, or maybe I’m just going insane.

  16. It will always be by 1 vote. If the Republicans needed 8 dems, there will be 8 dems. Same shit that has happened during the previous shutdown. Same shit that happened to end trumps war powers.

  17. It’s not one democrat. These votes are carefully managed to barely lose, because there’s too much AIPAC money that goes to democrat politicians. They purposefully sacrifice the exact number of Democrats who are not running for re-election everytime to lose these votes, and the rest have cover from unpopular votes.

  18. Rotating Democrat villain if it wasnt the member from Maine it would have been someone else.

  19. You know- it’s really suspicious how there is always 1 democrat who sells out the country at every significant congressional vote

  20. LuckyTheBear on

Oh jeez, so close guys. Vote Blue no matter who!

(I know, I know, but c’mon, it’s very obvious many Dems are compromised and are just the establishment pretending to be the resistance)

  21. skeetermcbeater on

If it wasn’t him, some other Dem would step up to the plate. They’re fully compromised, up to the actually progressive candidates. Hell I’m even side eyeing every one of them until we actually get something done in this country.

There was a time that politicians used every tool available to them, to get the job done. Now they just toss in a vote, throw up their hands and go on Instagram to say “Better luck next time!” The whole country’s cooked beyond being burnt. Welcome to the New United States.

You can count on republicans to fall in line. As for democrats, they are a sorry bunch of pretenders.
