  1. Not sure I’d trust to get basic needs met by an administration that believes those who enlist are “suckers and losers.”

  2. Don’t worry, Pete Hegseth is still eating lobster and filet mignon, with a case of the good stuff.

  3. Hungry sailors make for disobedient sailors, I’ve found. I’m not surprised that Hegseth seems to have ignored one of the basic foundations of running an effective fighting force. You think someone would advise him to read the Art of War but I doubt he wants to read a Chinese text.

  4. Eh, looks like the same food I had in the Navy while on deployment. I remember every week we would get served this thin flat and tough flavorless strip of beef (I think that’s what’s in the picture). It was covered in a rainbow slick like someone spilled gasoline on it. Definitely remember the meat patty.

  5. Why are soldiers being so ungrateful? The stock market is at all-time highs. What more could they possibly need?

  6. *”routine menu adjustments are simply how we optimise our endurance to keep our warships in the fight.”*

Optimize endurance by not giving them sustenance?

    Enforced fasting?

    >Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth described the reports as “more fake news from the Pharisee Press”

    >Hegseth has begun to refer to the media as Pharisees, after the group of Jewish religious leaders now remembered as instigating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

    But of course 🙄

  8. Even if it’s not a full shortage, conditions on deployed ships can still be rough compared to what people expect.

that’s what happens when the president thinks you’re suckers and losers

Would be pretty easy for them to post a video of the buffet on the Ford and disprove this…

I wasn’t even in a war, and 6 months into my deployment with 1 port call, our food looked like this.

Ide bet my house this is very very real.

IRAN should send boats with white flags and food donations. This is how you sour the party.

Running off half cocked and ill prepared for war totally sounds like something this administration would do.

  14. Bro that’s cow tongue… at least bread it and fry it. Cover up that rotten flesh color and odor

  15. War Crimes Minister Pete Hegseth says it’s all lies and that there’s nothing wrong with the food provided to American soldiers. But who still believes anything that comes out of the White House?

  16. EscapismIsLife on

“So you’re treating our soldiers this way on purpose?” Should be the immediate next question.

  17. Boiled and baked leather is pretty fitting given how much Republicans love to go on about pulling yourself up with your bootstraps.

And hey, carrots. Nice treat after eating the leather.

  18. Oh, so they’re feeding our boys like they’re in DoC on purpose, then? No food shortage means it’s either incompetent or deliberately screwing with them, which is it?

It’s at the point now where the vast majority would *support* a military coup – so I guess this is the Oval Orange’s way to weaken them.

There is no reason to believe anything from “official” military sources.

Everything “they” report is filtered through Darth Hegseth.

  21. This is what happens when you fire competent staff and replace them with sycophants.

  22. Can confirm this has been an issue in the navy a LOT longer than this administration has been in office. I retired in 2022 after serving over 21 years, and this is more common than most would admit. Usually though it’s not that they don’t have more options, it’s that the other stuff being served is even worse…

  23. Next they’ll tell us they need to get rid of Social Security to feed the troops fighting the war none of us wanted.

  24. Military families can’t feed themselves, either. I see them in food lines at distribution centers, churches and schools. However, this is not a new phenomenon. I lived in a military town in SoCal and worked in a bankruptcy law firm where coincidentally, military families were our top clients. I gave out an updated list of food distribution places and other “frugal” help (stores and other places that gave military discounts) for which they could avail themselves. I guess cannon fodder doesn’t rate food, IDK.

    OMG this was real?!

I honestly thought that tray was a joke.

I thought hegseth was ordering millions of dollars of lobster and crab and all of that kind of stuff. Who was eating all of that?

  26. You know, the US armed forces are looking more and more like the Russians: hollowed out by grifters and corruption.

  27. Exact_Insurance7983 on

Same people who left their supporters, who attended Trump’s rallies, stranded in the middle of nowhere during their election campaign now leaving the Troops stranded in middle east with no supplies ?

    SHOCKED i tell you.

    > routine menu adjustments are simply how we optimise our endurance to keep our warships in the fight.

The actual response from the navy

  29. Nuclear-powered ships can literally last forever in the water, but eventually will run out of food for the crew.
