
I'd be interested in everyone's views on this podcast and the rise of Pauline Hanson as she now appears to be a major influence in Australian Politics.
BTW I've just returned from visiting family in Caboolture. They'd never admit to me about being Hanson supporters but they kinda say things like "I like what see says about …" or the classic "I'm not a racists. but …".

People want lower immigration levels (for various reasons).
They are the party most associated in peoples’ minds with lower immigration.
All this continued over-analysis when it’s really not that complicated…
A big part of it is just that a lot of the big money on the hard right has swung in behind One Nation due to their disappointment with the Coalition’s performance. A well-funded spin campaign can do a surprisingly large amount to give even a extremist mess like One Nation prominence and legitimacy.
If you talk to any of the people who are vulnerable to this stuff it’s amazing how often they’ll regurgitate the latest talking points put out by the PR ops word-for-word.
