  1. “The Federal Government could owe companies as much as $176 billion”

It sure will be nice, As an American consumer, when that money hits the economy and companies pass the relief of those refunds on to us little people.

  2. UnluckyToday4358 on

It’s literally just companies getting a big payday. Consumers get nothing back.

  3. Businesses will get their money back and we’ll still end up getting stuck with the markup they passed onto us.

  4. Stunning-Isopod8514 on

The money we overpaid is getting refunded to the businesses that overcharged us.

  5. tax refunds are taking 3 months, just imagine how long a tariff refund is gonna take.

  6. Just so everyone is aware, the average consumer is not getting a dime.

No DOGE check. No tariff check. No tariff refund check.

    You get NOTHING.

But did you at least say thank you?

Taxpayers paid those companies higher prices because of the illegal tariffs.. and now taxpayers are going to pay those same fucking companies AGAIN in refunds for those same fucking illegal tariffs.

I’m getting real fucking sick of this bullshit.

  8. So let me get this straight, I paid DHL multiple tariff fees and now the government is going to also pay them those same fees?

So does that mean Leavitt was lying and she’s a dumb çüñt after all? That’s…shocking.

  10. If these companies get refunds. They just double dipped our fucking money. Tariffs were paid by Americans. Now it’s gonna happen twice. …. No wonder trump bankrupted casinos…

  11. great, more money for companies to spend on elections to get more of the same elected.

These tariff refunds are just like the ppp loans: a “cut” of government money alotted to business owners and private equity to grease the wheels and show the lobbyists and consultants trump hasn’t forgotten about them

  13. Even if we got student debt forgiveness, free health care, and ubi we’d still be fucked by this idiot.

  14. Adversary-of-Tyrants on

…businesses. The same businesses that already passed those costs down to the consumers. Refund’s going to the wrong fucking people, as always.

I’m sure this will be as well monitored as the PPP loans and forgiveness process, correct? /s

  17. Raspberries-Are-Evil on

Giant corporations will get millions back instantly.

The mom and pop stores that got fucked by this won’t get anything because the money will run out or some bullshit.

Just like Trump’s “PPP” give aways at covid.

  18. Raspberries-Are-Evil on

Now the trick is for US to sue the companies that get refunds to return that to the customers.

  19. educated-emu on

As the end consumer, you get nothing, zero and they know that and decide not to do one thing about it as its “too complex”

But they will write blank checks for companies and setup a complex system so the company can claim money back they already passed onto you.

Here come the downvotes as I agree companies suffer too as they lost business but the consumer should get some sort of money back too

  20. Watching right wingers do Olympic level gymnastics to explain why American companies are getting refunds for the tariffs that the administration has 100% repeatedly said other countries have been paying has been interesting.

  21. People should look up who bought tariff refund rights for pennies om the dollar. People will see 0, a lot of companies got a “refund” by selling the rights for pennies on the dollar last year.

  22. >Today, Rep. Jamie Raskin, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, is [demanding answers](https://democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/democrats-judiciary.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/2026-02-27-raskin-to-lutnick-commerce-lutnick-cantorfitzgerald-re-tariffs.pdf) from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and his son, Brandon Lutnick, the Chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald, regarding reports that the firm spent millions of dollars buying the rights to potential tariff refunds.

    What a lucky guy.

At this point I don’t even know if Americans understand what’s happening. I feel like all this finance stuff is too complicated for them.

  23. BulletProofEnoch on

Trump too busy yelling empty threats at Iran and talking shit to the Pope to address this recent humilation?

  24. In other words it’s a giant redistribution of middle class incomes to the manufactures and farmers who already passed the cost onto the consumers/middle classes
