White House spokesman Davis Ingle said Trump has been clear. “While he seeks a strong and profitable stock market for everyone, members of Congress and other government officials should be prohibited from using non-public information for financial benefit.”
ICE shouldn’t kill American citizens for non-criminal activities, but they do. People in boats on international waters shouldn’t be killed for possibly having drugs onboard, but they are. “Should be prohibited” is not the same as ‘are prohibited’. Another weak, defensive statement from a White House spokesman.

The only thing that doesn’t really bother me about the prediction market stuff is that it’s chuds scamming chuds. The stock market manipulation stuff needs to lead to prison time for a lot of people, but the Kalshi and Polymarket stuff is just loser stuff. Unless these predicition markets are just being used for money laundering or funneling bribes or something.
