  1. Trump can’t actually negotiate anything.

The only arrows in his quiver are legal intimidation and cult of personality.

    That’s all he’s *ever* had.

His famous ‘art of the deal’ was ghost written by a man who thought Donald himself was a total idiot.

He’s bankrupted every business he’s ever owned, until he started selling influence to the presidency at Mar-a-Lago.

  2. Trump can’t do *anything* better than Obama could. Period.

Edit: Except create and lead a cult of personality. Trump’s pretty good at that. And committing crimes and then getting away with it.

  3. Trump has had American soldiers killed, gas prices spiked and spent 100s of billions of taxpayer dollars because he couldn’t accept that a black man did a good job.

  4. Knightforlife on

From Iran’s perspective, they had a deal, Trump dumped it and bombed their country. Why should they agree to the same deal? For that matter how can they trust any deal with Trump involved?

  5. Zealousideal-Mall973 on

Turns out you can’t be a raging a hole and expect the whole world to accept it

  6. His reputation as a deal maker was always bullshit and you’re using his bullshit doesn’t work in situations like this.

  7. ChillingWithHerb on

They literally called in Condelisa Rice as if the Bush admin didn’t do anything but get American Soldiers killed and given PTSD.

He doesn’t negotiate anything. He generated a problem that didn’t exist, he fixes it 70%, then he takes a victory lap and his frat bros beat him off. It’s deranged theater.

  9. Okay is everyone forgetting that we killed their supreme leader? Like imagine if Russia killed our President and then were like, “Why aren’t you negotiating with us? Just have the next in line talk. We’re open-minded individuals.”

Israel probably bugged the flight that the Iranian Foreign Minister took back home after Trump refused to meet him.

  10. Trump can’t do anything better than Obama and it eats him and his racist pedophile protecting republicans alive.

  11. Trump will bankrupt the USA just like he did every business he ever had. He is a failed human. If you can call him fully human.

  12. He’ll negotiate a much worse deal, claim it’s better, and all the MAGA simps will slurp up their kool aid as they’re told

I thought it was pretty widely reported that Trump passed up the opportunity to have a better deal than Obama had (supposedly – according to the Oman negotiator, https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/mar/19/us-lost-control-of-its-own-foreign-policy-oman-foreign-minister). Was it actually better? No idea, but it was said by several people that he could have claimed it was better.

He threw it all away so he could start bombing – hard to know why – guess he thought he’d be viewed as even more of a success had the fantasy of what Netanyahu laid out for him actually happened.

He is the worst deal maker, the worst president, one of the worst human beings I know of. And still another 2.7 years to go unless Republicans come to their senses and help impeach and convict him which they won’t.

  14. Obama had veteran diplomats and nuclear scientists represent him. Trump has his real estate friend and idiot son in law negotiating. What can we expect?

  15. The Iranians – hell, every country – knew they could negotiate in good faith with Obama, whether they liked him or not. He has integrity. trump and his lackeys? Ha! Not a fucking chance. These clowns aren’t negotiating, they want to “win”. There’s no winners here, we’re all fucked.

Trump isn’t fit to shine President Obama’s shoes. Who wants a pedophile rapist touching them or breathing on them.

  17. LilSlayerPeanut on

It’s almost like Obama actually knew what he was doing and the Orange One couldn’t tolerate that. The worst part of the Obama deal for him was Obama’s signature.

Trump is agitated that he has no control over the situation. So he resorts to childish games and calls it “the art of the deal.”

Trump is clearly in over his head, he’s desperately searching for an off ramp, and he never had a coherent strategy for a protracted war.

By all accounts, Iran was committing to its end of the bargain under Obama’s JCPOA—a deal that Trump abandoned out of spite.

This included strict limitations on uranium enrichment and centrifuges, Iran agreeing to sunset provisions and shipping 98% of its stockpile out of the country, the destruction of their Plutonium cores, placing all of their facilities and their uranium supply chain under rigorous monitoring and more.

Obama’s diplomacy intended to AVOID a war and box in Iran’s nuclear program.

US intelligence, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and even Trump admin officials at the time all indicated that Iran was upholding its side.

But because Trump tore it up, Iran’s nuclear program is now more advanced than it would have been under the JCPOA.

Trump, the genius deal maker, failed repeatedly to negotiate a new one.

But he shifted the onus on Obama and Iran and invented a false pretext to go to war.

Instead of relying on diplomacy, he bombed Iran TWICE in the middle of negotiations and then launched the US into a needless and unjustified war.

And now we’re back to square one.

Trump went from insisting Iran unconditionally surrender, to accepting a ceasefire proposal that included massive concessions because he NEVER had a plan for a drawn out conflict.

Iran’s demands included sanction relief, war reparations, at least $20 billion in unfrozen assets, control over the Strait of Hormuz and command of their ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs.

Also the ability to sell oil at free market rates, to exact tolls on ships and tankers, and to continue funding its proxies and terrorists groups.

The Islamic Regime was in no position to make these demands before the war.

Trump also dismissed concerns about Strait of Hormuz closures even though he was explicitly warned that Iran would resort to these countermeasures.

This led to global trade disruptions, market shocks and surging oil prices.

Meanwhile, Trump’s war has exacted a devastating toll on the American and world economy; causing a global energy crisis unlike anything we’ve seen in recent memory.

Millions have been displaced from their homes, US troops are dead, thousands of innocent civilians have been killed—including CHILDREN.

War crimes have been committed and bombs have decimated schools, hospitals, heritage sites, non military infrastructure and massive energy facilities.

Trump’s war has caused irrevocable damages to our alliances.

Conflict has been reignited between Israel and Hezbollah.

And Russia now has the budget revenues to continue funding its war in Ukraine for years.

China has also benefitted from this war and has made both short and long term strategic gains.

Worse yet, Trump’s war has hardened the Russia-China-Iran axis.

In the meantime, the theocratic, repressive regime remains INTACT.

The IRGC is still a powerful authority.

Iran still maintains its nuclear materials and missile supplies.

And the people of Iran have NOT been “liberated.”

All this is to say that the US has failed to accomplish any of Trump’s inconsistent “objectives,” and after everything, Iran has GAINED leverage in negotiations and Trump could be forced to accept a WORSE deal than the one Obama negotiated through diplomacy, not WAR.

Mind you, Iran doesn’t have to enrich uranium right away. This war has demonstrated that they have other weapons and tools at their disposal.

Iran can also still rebuild its nuclear program and can use the funds it receives from the US in exchange for its stockpile to restore its weapons systems and military, or even purchase Chinese weapons and war technologies.

This all could have been avoided if Trump didn’t rip up Obama’s deal out of pettiness.

  19. Because it took years of hard negotiations! It was hard before we killed their religious leader and murdered a bunch of their civilians.

I can’t even imagine how many concessions we would have to give right now just to get the Iranians back in the room in an earnest way.

I 100% do not believe they are even pretending to negotiate with Kushner and Vance, because they know nothing this administration says has anything behind it.

  20. Of course, because he’s an imbecile that thinks “negotiating” is bullying people in to getting what you want

  21. jimmietwotanks26 on

He actually almost did. Feb 26, Iran puts a killer deal on the table. JCPOA+ and offered to put their ballistic missile program on the table. Feb 28, Trump catastrophically shits the bed and starts the war

  22. It might help if he and the rest of the administration weren’t just abject idiots.

  23. I remember what a big deal the Iran Nuke Plan was when John Kerry got it done, only to have the Republicans demand a “better plan” that never materialized.

  24. HeartlessCards2-22 on

Remember he was gonna negotiate a better boarder policy also? Why he got republicans to slap down a bill democrats put out, cause he was gonna deliver some better deal while the money still went away?

  25. I don’t think that there is much trump can do right, other than fail at all he touches.
