I get not wanting mining operations to expand in the Amazon, from some quick Google searches most of the issue is around increased copper mining. I know EVs use significantly more copper compared to a Ice car, but I have a hard time believing solar panels and batteries are using that much more copper compared to having transmission lines run for miles from a power plant
