The exact people we should be looking to for logic and reason. So sick of everyone immediately assuming literally everything is a false flag these days as if there’s no chance that something like this could be organic in today’s environment.

I don’t think it was staged, but I completely understand why people do think this. It’s so wildly incompetent for this to have happened. And the Trump admin can’t help themselves and pounced at any opportunity to justify their shitty ass ballroom.
Bigweld_Ind on
They didn’t stage the shooter, they staged substandard security and hoped for the pattern to continue. One checkpoint before the door INSIDE the hotel. They did not even check ID’s apparently. The shooter was one corner away from being within barrel sight of the journalists tables. No guards at the external doors, no checking people who were already in the hotel, and no advanced screening leading up to the day of the event. If that is not intentional, then whoever is running these things must be in a coma. My prom had better security. Ignorance and inexperience do not explain what we saw set up last night. It was against training and policy.
Trump was never in any danger. They were hoping a madman was going to try and kill as many as possible, who were mostly journalists. The Butler, PA shooter was not concerned about people downrange, but apparently this guy was. That may be the whole reason why this didn’t go the way they hoped it would.
Nothing about this theory assumes they were intelligent while planning it. They are desperate.

I doubt it was, but even my mother whose a willfulyl obtuse “You’re not seeing the other side!” person, doesn’t believe it.
My uncle whose also all in on any bullshit newsmax says, doesn’t even seem to really take it that seriously.
Do I think it’s staged? mmmm, I fully believe that, yes, hand picked “warriors” from these guys who *wish* they could be “as good” as the brown shirts in germany were, might be that incompetent.
On the one hand, the story was he checked in the day before….which makes less sense. They found a shotgun and multiple handguns in his room. Are you telling me that the secret service wouldn’t have found a whole cache of guns stashed the day prior in the same building they planned and publicized?
Either they’re the worst bodyguards in the world, or someone delibrately was aiming for an “Accidental hole” where they just somehow happened not to find them.
Trump himself doesn’t even care that much about his own attempt. The Trump I know gets in hysterics against the pope for way smaller shit. If he actually thought he was in any real danger even for a second, he would not be telling his security staff what a good job they did and everyone should just forget about it.
Either this is the most incompetent protection security on the planet, or this is a lot less accidental than it appears.

This is actually a more serious issue than a lone wolf gunman at the WHCD.
When the public’s first instinct is to shrug it off as another lie, albeit in a spectacular manner, our government has zero credibility…no one – not voters, not allies, no one trusts this government.

Realistically I could see people working for the orange idiot winding up a legitimately unhinged person to do exactly what they did, but with enough backstop so that there was never any real danger. Pull the top and watch it spin and then respond with prepared remarks about the ballroom and rallying around the flag of the president. Not everyone needed to be informed about what was going to happen – just key security and close confidants of the admin so it appears organic and give them a talking point and a hill to stand on, and the people who didn’t know what was happening get their pictures taken to show the trauma and fear.
In this landscape, it’s not that far fetched. And the immediate knee jerk of the entire MAGAsphere reinforcing the need for his ballroom and claiming this guy was a liberal (as they do with literally every other gunman even when it’s proven they’re MAGA or at the very least conservative).
Also, why should I rise above where my mind goes when the Liar-n-Chief gets to babble non-stop to any microphone that comes within ten yards of him? It doesn’t make me crazy entertaining a plausible scenario.

The U.S. is discovering (painfully) that authority without credibility turns into performance, and performance without trust provokes backlash and mistrust.

If it was staged, they would have for sure killed the guy instead of detaining him. Also, if you read the guy’s manifesto, it seems to match his personality perfectly from that old video of him at the science fair or whatever. A corny, maybe even autistic to some degree, guy who probably doom scrolled himself crazy.
Think of al the things that would need to happen for them to find a random guy and learn to control him, and coerce him into a shooting that would end his life in one way or another. They are not capable of doing something like that.

Well, here’s the problem with Trump and his whole administration; They have been lying about absolutely everything for the past 10+ years.
So now, nobody will take their word for anything and why should we?

No way someone would have agreed to partake in a staging like that. Sniper rifle maybe, but asking someone to straight up bum rush the SS would never work. Leaving the guy alive would be a big mistake as well.
Trump would either want someone dramatically closer and willing to die, or a close miss with a sniper rifle and a good chance of escape.

Why is the media and this current administration framing this incident as an assassination attempt solely against Trump?
It was a building full of people that the suspect shot into before being stopped, he didn’t go straight for Trump. The suspect’s manifesto reads like he’s aware of and disgusted by the amount of corrupt, nasty individuals being in government. And I agree with him. Not condoning his actions though, no one should feel they have to take an act like that.
However, Trump and republicans have spent years normalizing mass shootings. “My rights, my rights” have been screamed from the rooftops and the crazies getting guns is a necessary evil we have to accept has been a major talking point. Trump said “get over it, this is the new normal” after the parkland shooting and to get a gun to protect yourself.
Why is maga land so upset if shootings are normal? Is it because they don’t care about violence everywhere else, only when it’s at their doorsteps?
Trump and his administration need to practice what they preach.

I don’t think the attempt was staged.
What I do think was staged is the playbook they clearly had for when it happened.
How they framed the arrest photo. How they snatched the security footage and posting it on social media in concert with the press conference. How the talking point was about building a secure ballroom for the rich and powerful to hide in and not about working to address the social and political issues that produced this guy.
When it’s this obvious that they only have their own self interests in mind I don’t think there are many people who are willing to believe anything they say or do in response to this incident.
